Hi guys got my car back tonight with a cruise tune of almost 240kw at 11 psi, I have a very slight leak I have to rectify around #3 inlet manifold hopefully simple. Anyway with the adaptronic 1280 and Bosch 2200 injectors I was suprised how smooth it was especially for quick tune . This ecu is crazy and has everything even launch control and almost anything it's completely programable in every way.

Thanks to jez and Andy btw, but we were talking and I really want 400 kw plus on e 85 so we decided to put cams and possibly springs , it's a forged engine std stroke with mild porting in cylinder head and exh manifolds. So do I just go the usual type b as jez said they are proven or try a custom grind still with full size base circle but 10 mm lift or more? And say 260 duration to keep power band low? I don't want to change shims as right now it's perfect and super quiet all I can hear Is injectors. It also has hks adjustable cam gears , we can change them out in about 2 hours but I just want to give it best chance offline the power, car will be used for drags and hill climbs etc not much circuit. I have researched around 6 hours on this subject but posts go back to 2009 so if there is a thread please direct me to it.

Scott

Chuck a HTA 3582 on the side of it and have epic response AND power.... I replaced my GT3037 with a HTA3076 (same size turbo) and made 391kw and super response!! The car is totally different now and just the way I want it!!!

I want to stay twins but I know it's heaps easier to make the power with a single It looks like I will go a camtech grind 272 , 9.75mm lift depending on my clearance measurements on stock cams or I may get him to reduce duration a bit

Guys Scott has been discussing his car over a couple of threads, the setup is done... No need to discuss alternate turbo options etc. Just cams.

Having only done a little research I am with Jez on the Tomei type B's. You don't need anything too massive to hit your targets, and a tried and tested combo seems like a safer option than trying a custom combo.

Can't deal with new shims lol I think it "should be ok in theory as the valve seat and valve govern the distance and shim required and supposedly with 32mm base circle all should be well, supertech do a dual spring with 92lbs seat pressure is that overkill ? Can u go too far with springs ? And sir rb those cams I had were 29 mm base circle hence the dramas but I should have run thicker buckets to compensate, it's good cause u don't need relief but bad cause of mucking around

valve springs will be 20yrs old.

more boost, high rpm, do the springs while its apart.

just a decent single spring.

and new cams will still need shimming.

even with the same base circle, shims are .05mm iirc, sfa in it, and I dont see machining/casting being that spot on.

    • It says 300ZX, does that make it an Aus delivered car? Funny how back in the day I just couldn't care less about Z32's and these days I am just in love with them. Back when Nissan was into pushing the envelope. 🤣
    • Hi guys, just after some guidance with an R34 sunroof that has stopped working correctly. It still opens and closes perfectly fine, but it no longer tilts/vents up or down. As a result, the rear of the glass now sags a bit as it drops down slightly in order to retract into the roof, but now it can't pop upwards into a flush position. I’ve probed the pins on the back of the switch connector with a multimeter and it seems like both switches (for open/close and tilt/vent) still work correctly. Any ideas on what it could be, or where I should even start in terms of diagnosing? I'm sure someone's had this issue before but I haven't been able to find anything online relating to this specific issue, most of the issues are with the seals leaking or the motor failing entirely. Thanks in advance!
    • Do you have some data like fuel pressure? It's really hard to say if you're still fighting a fuel system issue at this point. Could be something weird like the FPCM dipping out.
    • Yeah in that case, pulling the dent out. Event a very slight dent can create a lot of work filler-wise and there is a strong chance the panel won't be the factory shape when you are done (as the dent will result in a new high point created somewhere, then everything is brought up to that new high point... but the panel shouldn't be that high if that makes sense).  So you've filled and primed the panel and it is flat, why would you go back and remove the primer and add more filler?
    • Something else I have been faffing with while the car was off the road is making the AC work. Assuming the car isn't at a thermal limit the idea of having AC while waiting in line to go on track sounds delightful. I have actually been lugging around the weight of the entire system since 2018 when the RB25NEO went in without it working at all.  The main reason was in the first few events before I got around to re-gassing it the rubber hose that runs under the manifold had the factory heat wrap/sleeve fail resulting in this: ~2 years ago I purchased a complete used R32 AC line set but when I finally went to install it the line i needed was different where the expansion section is I found a local place that was able to replace the rubber section and re-crimp. They also added some modern heat sleeve to the hose Tight fit but fingers crossed this is the last physical piece of the puzzle needed
