The poor owner KNOWINGLY driving an unregistered uninsured car?

I don't think so; he's easily as big an idiot as the dope in the EVO.

I wouldn't say he deserved it; but FFS, if you can't afford to register your car; you can't afford to drive it.

I stay waaaay away from "Enthusiast" events like these; as the dickhead factor is completely off the charts.

These same guys are the ones whining that they are unfairly targeted, yet leave their brains in the glovebox at all times.

If anything; this highlights how well run SAU events & cruises are. People know if they screw around, you'll be handed to the Police on a platter.

They also understand that we are ambassadors for our cause, and want to promote a positive image.

Idiots like this destroy EVERYONE'S hard work in an instant.

Couldn't have said it better myself if my surname was Scippione

Definitely agree...

SAU events and cruises definitely have a more mature atmosphere, and everyone is sensible because idiots aren't tolerated.

JDMST/EOMM/Lowdown meets etc are more of an attraction to most of the people who have a "look at me" or "us against police" attitude.

+11ty. This is one area where the punishments are too weak. Driving an unregistered car or when disqualified should get the car impounded for a year.

Definitely, people don't think through the consequences of being in a collision while their car is unregistered.

Imagine seriously injuring another driver or pedestrian; you would be financially entirely responsible for anyone involved. It would destroy your life, as well as theirs.

Agree 100% with a lot of things mentioned.

The SAU events have always been held in such high regards.

To prove this the recent Putty Road cruise vid was posted on Motor Magazines Facebook page.

Just goes to show the top management of SAU!

Wow... so many idiots still around. I cant believe these people still turn up to these meets. I stoped going to the JDMST meets a long time ago.. A shame over time it starts to attract idiots, because those meets used to be awesome.

Whenever I film an event, I always ask people if they want their number plates blanked out. Most of the SAU chaps don't really care. The answer is always the same "I'm not doing anything illegal, so why would I care?"

Would be awesome if every community adopted the same mindset as those here.

Cheers,

Shaz

Yeah the SAU community is different to a lot of them i have found! Sure we all give the car a squirt here and there BUT not in the middle of a car meet!

I've always wanted to go to these JDM meets, however seeing so many cars with All Stars stickers, JDM as f*ck and people making sounds like "needs more low", "stance", vtec, and seeing bone stock civics with half decent wheels and lowered to 1mm and that usual band wagon stuff, puts me off.

Or maybe I'm just too picky and favor the idea of personality.

Nah, you're not a fully sick flat capper swagfag. You actually care about how your car drives. I'm glad I decided it was a good idea not to go to these meets. Assumed they would be shit, haven't been proven wrong.

  • 3 weeks later...

I was going to say, sounds like all of them were idiots, someone doing a uturn where they shouldn't (blind spot), someone hammering where they shouldnt (lots of people and blind spot), and someone driving a vehicle when they shouldn't (rego etc), then I thought, do I care if darwin eliminates the shitheads. Nup, good work old mate.

lol I've never been to one of the jdmst meets, But I always thought they were a bunch of trendy hipsters having a fashion contest.

I couldn't help but LOL at this post!!!!!!

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
