We need a nice sunny day for photos.

Its been fairly nasty blizzard type weather up here lately.

But, yeah its ready to go, i even took it for a spin around the block a few times to warm it up.

Ive been driving the missus Volvo V70 for 6 months, so its real nice to get in it again.

Ooh, thats nice.

Ok, so ive finished polishing fully now, no more touch ups, i cant see cos i never get a chance on a sunny day. So it will have to do for now.

Its washed and ready for the 4 layers of stuff going on.

Lime prime to prep the paint for wax, hard wax, soft wax, sealant.

Its nice and cold out there at night, polish and stuff doesnt dry, so you get ages to work with it. But on the other hand, wax that normally takes 24 hours to cure will take 48.

That's Awesome! ^^^

Right, that's it Mik, you have permission to paint the SkyWagon the same colour as your car. (now you've had practice)

Ill spray your car no worries, as in just the spray gun and you can do the other 180hrs or so of stuff....

But realistically, youd want to do it to a car with no rego, or do a quickie.

Thats just: pull of some bits, wash, a light sand, tape up, dust, wax&grease remover, prime, solid colour (gloss, no clear), a quick polish, done.

No bodywork and no idea how long it will last, but an easy way to change the colour.

And my compressor needs a service before i use it again.

Anyway, i should be done soon, prime lime tonight, and maybe the first wax too if i can.

Thanks guys.

Photos look a bit better than it really is, but its still good, im very happy with it.

Mainly the colour, its really just the way i wanted it, and the first time i saw it glowing in the sunset....... wow.

Yep, pretty sure I heard your mind Fap.

Looks better in person I reckon.

The colour change depending on available light is mad and it's hard to capture the true colour in a pic but that evening light worked wonders on the pearls within.

Well i spose its time to get into something else like the interior, its pretty shagged.

The boot, i just plugged the green and earth into the light socket.

I will use the rest in the cabin with the controller and maybe a bit of a work light under the bonnett.

Soldered broken joints in the window relay, while i swapped the door trim to one that isnt chopped.

Fixed my other trims, no sign of chopping out for a window net anymore. ( window net was a stupid idea without a rollcage )

Put in a smaller intercooler, the big one was not helping with power, it just blocks air to the radiator.

A piece of corflute to block the last gap.

I got another pair of seats that have tighter rails than mine, but some bits are worse, i will make one good pair from it all.

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
