When I was a kid I wanted a Countach or an F40, till I got past the age of 6 and figured out how expensive they were... still wouldn't pass one up if I won the lotto, newer cars be damned.

Growing up in woomera there was a dude who lived close who drove a lime green and black SLR5000.... it was the most impressive thing I'd seen at the time, still got a soft place for toranas. Them and 67-73 mustangs. As well as the AC Shelby Cobra - for looks alone, let alone the power.

Modern Cars? Audi R8 or anything by Pagani. Too bad I ain't a millionaire.

I'd start with an Audi/Porsche RS2, and go from there. If money were no object, it'd find itself parked next to an F40, a Huayra and an Agera.

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
