Hey guys.

I'm new to Adelaide and looking for a Job

I'm a Dental Technician by trade but will do any other work if it's paying.

Hi Paul,

Were you from WA? What brought you to good old Adelaide.

Yes mate, Still get a few every now and then. The dvd rom has either got a dirty laser from not having a disk or the disk wont come out. I nearly have to pull the dvd rom out every time to convert it.

How you going. See you at Kadina I guess

Yeah mate, Kadina is always the highlight (and about only properly organised SAUish thing) every year.

Many interstate V35 guys want it done, but it seems that all the interstate guys that do it are uncontactable, and the Xanavi website has been down for some time.

It has died a bit in the arse. I guess because it can be hit and miss now. The website is down because Andy in NSW said its not worth paying for the website anymore.

I should ask Fedor to put the dealers on their website and linkit to that.

Looking forwartd to Kadina. Probably see you at AJD.

Is it true Munro sold thr GTR?

Yeah mate, I will be at AJD.

No he hasn't sold it to my knowledge - but I know he was trying to decide which car to keep or sell, as he has too many at the moment. He nearly sold the R8 the other week but it fell through. I haven't caught up with him for a few weeks, and a few weeks is a long time in Munro time :)

No worries mate. I'm happy enough to wait till the next major show. I'm also looking forward to heading out to the strip later in the year, once I've run-in the new engine.

I would love to go down the strip sometime. I never know when there on until I see photos of a day that has just passed. Should have an SAU get together down there. Probably only be a few.

I'll let you know when I'm planning on heading to AIR mate. The more of us there the better. http://racingonn.com.au lists the off-street and competition meeting dates.

The Four, Six, Rotary and Turbo Nationals are on in November ;-)

    • They are under bucket shims. Tomei provides a test shim kit and then any measurement of shim required.
    • I always wondered how you were supposed to buy a set of 24 buckets and somehow magically have every single one of them yield exactly the desired clearance. I would have thought you'd need to assemble a cam with either 12 "sample" or "example" buckets of known top thickness (or a single such sample/example 12 times over!!) measure clearances at every valve, and then do the usual math to work out what the actual "shimness" of each bucket needed to be, before buying the required buckets to make up he thicknesses that you didn't have on hand.
    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something?
