The 3 track challenge sounds great!

I'm pretty disappointed at missing out on Sandown on the 12th when trying to book a place nearly 3 weeks out!

Superkarts? Really?

Seems like this could be a problem if SAU members are going to struggle to enter WRX events from now on...

They've got Porsches and superkarts(wtf?) now reserving and competing for places on the day!

Why doesn't SAU get reserved places?

There own members missed out.

It's not going to happen often it's just this time, unsure of the reasoning as Sandown fills normally anyway.

FHR requirement coming in at National then State events. Saw the CAMS email and deleted it but in trying to check the website further it locks. Could this impact state level sprints?

International and National events from the 1st of July, for track, tarmac and off road events, and then from 1st January 2015 this also applies to all state level events, but not club level at this stage.

Looks like it will not impact us even if we join a round of Victoria's sprint series, spotted this in the latest CAMS release.

"From 1 July, 2014 all international and national circuit races, road events and off road events, except where specifically exempted due to the type of vehicle; From 1 January, 2015, all state circuit races, road events and off road events, except where specifically exempted due to the type of vehicle.
This does not include Speed events and Auto tests."
  • 2 weeks later...

Edit: entries for us open 30th April

Guess the other 80 odd are already gone perhaps?

if there was only ever 49 (60 as of 25th April, before you could enter) available on the WRX website, means the other 71 were reserved for other clubs. Doesnt really seem fair, does it? unless maybe porsche are paying them for reserved spots because they got sick of AROCA?

22 spots remaining. I would suggest that people enter.

We are discussing options with WRX over the weekend, which may include moving the round to another day however to avoid disapointment enter.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
