This is my first post on SAU, First thing i'll say is im building this for me and only me so please just consider the effort and money put into this project as im 18 y/o before hating..

As soon as i lost my licence for a year i thought perfect time to start saving up for my dream car. For months straight worth of no going out and saving up i came across this, and got a Series 2 NA RB25 dropped in proffesionaly with VERY low Ks..

Nissan Skyline r33 GTS-T M-spec ( with sunroof ) Manual

It looked like this before paint..

I hated the wheels it came with and i wanted something to SET the candy OFF.. So i found these Alba BLVDS tried it on bought it straight away..

Then i realised i needed a new front Bar, So i found a Top Secret front bar and a series 2 vented bonnet..

bonnet.jpg

At this point i realised shit, series 1 lights wont cut it, so i ordered a pair of series 2s from VIC

series2.jpg

Looked closer and realised i needed new seats because passenger and driver's were ripped so i bought these rep recaro's :)

Bought some led rear lights, clear tail garnish, lambo door kits, DRIFT Gauges with DRIFT gauge mount cups..
BUT this still isnt enough i wanna do it bigger, so now im going full r33 widebody.. Just ordered 20mm wider vented front guards should be here by next week. going to be a even bigger project and should be done in JULY, Get my licence back August.. this ones really going to freak out the NSW Police ; -)
Still got sideskirts, rear bar and widened rear fenders to order..

Yes i know its not everyones style well more like 90% People hate/despise my car and wheels, 5% of people appreciate the work and effort and only 5% of people actually love it. But this is the way i wanted to do it for a very long time and will be done very soon! Will be posing regularly.. but will delete if i get too much hate..

Its a risk im already prepared to take 75coupe, but i dont mind being the odd one out. Especially with the style im going for. MathewZ, i bought it off gumtree for $400 never fitted apparently. If you have to cash to buy it and cant find it.. Its on carmate.com.au for $850 exactly the same :) Thank you truffles, i can't wait litterally 2 and a half months for my Reds back.. Im looking into finding a pair of WORK VS-KF thats why im fitting wider fenders front and rear.. these wheels where just on my list for a very long time.
But thanks for the positive feedback! Looking forward to making future posts and getting others opinions.

No PL4T. I haven't hessitated a dollar on this build. They came as all 4, but had 2x bad tyres plus they're very thin, So i bought all 4 new tyres, 2 backs needed to be changed because of camber wear and air bubbles so didnt bother to put them on until the rear 2 tyres changed.

Heres a shopped version of what the wheels and height will look like.

leave the car be. hes making it the way he wants it. the way a true enthusiast is. and if you are also a car enthusiast you should respect the decisions he makes for his own vehicle despite how much you dislike it.

Pic of front fenders? im getting D1 style front fenders for mine soon.

put the guages in yet?

I changed my mind on the full kit, im stopping at the fenders. Going to slam the rear instead, get some camber happening.
Thanks Mat, respect man. Nah not yet very soon im going to paint the cups to blend in so cops wont see it from a mile away because they're going on the bonnet, something which hasnt been doen for a very long time :)
ahh yeah D1s was considering them, but instead o chose SR Style 20mm wide."

Thanks man.

And you can get them here : http://carmate.com.au/

Haven't tried them on yet, i'll try them on after the lambo doors are on to see which fender has better fitment.

lambo doors arnt easy to fit to any car . so im also hanging to see how they turn out on a R33..

you never know everyone. once all finished with all these bits and bobs. you guys may be surprised how it looks. you never know. well all just have to wait and see. atleast billy you now know you got alot of followers haha.

Billy i suggest not commenting until youve got an update for everyone.

your just filling in there boredom at home whilst they search the forum. your feeding there boredom. just keep doing what ever you want to do. chin up. and if you dont want to accept other peoples suggestions/Hate then dont thats up too you but just remember. you posted on a public forum which allows everyones criticism good or bad. and if you dont like it no offence but id stop posting / sharing with us all on what your doing to "YOUR" skyline.

So in a nut shell. you posted on a skyline forum. you have to accept every type of criticism there is. if not you shouldnt of started a thread here. but if like you say there criticism doesnt bother you at all. then stop fighting back and just post updates. ignore all this its getting you no were and just fludding your thread with Bu#$ Sh$t..

not going to freak them out.

will just make them target you.

doesn't matter about the gauges being chrome if youre going to slam the car on chrome 20s.

they will still see you from a mile away.

Nah mate stock ;) I can assure you tho if its next to an rx7 you wont be able to tell apart, Idle wise.

Why? Does yours not idle nice?

Nah mate just people like you would be like, OH THOSE WHEELS WOULDNT BE ON A RX7. So i had to be a bit more specfic for yous :)

Stock as a rock.

you just said idle wise.

then said not an idle comparison?

and I have seen those wheels on an rx7.

a couple actually.

Haha birds, the blame game, you hate, i call you's what you are then u say im a hater callerer how cute. Your just an angry old mannn.

you could say, hes an agry bird...

YEEAAHHHH!!!!

MBS206, Im looking to get some simple airbrushings maybe next year. Pretty much i was that bloke in primary bringing Hot4 mags to school everyday, so maybe thats why, i loved F&F but that didn't give me the idea, that just gee'd me more. And no worries for making u look plain haha, i dont mind standing out of the ground as It wont be a daily.

FnF didn't give you the idea?

youre 18 now.

which means you would have been 5 when FnF was released.

so, all those ideas(even in mags) would have been partly inspired by FnF.

A First, Try something new. Everyone had chrome, so why not candy.

I'm more questioning why he's got all these reasons "I want to blend in" "I want to stand out" "I want to be individual" "I'm doing something that's already been done a million times to death".

I also agree with the "I don't care what you all think" "I'm going to defend anyones criticism"

Wtf u on about MBS, i haven't said any of those? Im just answering your f**ken questions.

but you have, to a degree.

you want to paint you gauge pods to "blend in"

but, you want the gauges, chrome wheels and stance to "stand out"(from the crowd).

again, you want the gauge pods painted to be "different".

even though many others have done it.

The difference between me as those "twits" who will chuck any chromie and give ME a bad name is that i chose these wheels because they're not flat, they've got abit of curve to it and shape, like a skyline body has, so i thought it will suit with a sleek no wing look and vented bonnet.

so, no one else take into consideration how the wheels look?

they walk into a tyre shop/wheel supplier and ask for anything chrome?

no.

they choose their wheels because they like how they look on their car.

how does that make them "twits"?

they've done exactly what you have.

so, does that make you a "twit" by your own definition?

ok, some thoughts...

talk to an engineer about your mods.

lambo doors could mess with the structural integrity of the car.

fibreglass front guards may not be legal.

the gauge pods DEFINITLY arnt legal on the bonnet of anywhere on the exterior.

if you "slam" your car, it may be well below the legal limit.

replica seats don't normally carry ADR approvals.

nor do aftermarket rails.

the reason im mentioning this, is, with your chosen paint and wheel combo, it will attract A LOT of unwanted attention from the authorities.

once you do the lambo doors, it will be costly to convert back to standard to clear defects.

the guards wont be as hard to change.

lastly.

I don't care what you do to your car.

its yours.

not my taste, but youre not building it for me.

just put a little thought into it.

Oh my....

I respect that your making the car the way you want it to be, ill offer you MY opinion, im not having a go at you or anything, just giving my 2c.

As a fellow p plater with the same car as you, I really, really suggest you lose the rims and all of these weight gaining modifications. Your a p plater driving a car that has rims that were not designed for the car, you've lowered the car way below the legal limit (looks like it), your adding other illegal mods to the car. Im not sure what the hwy patrol are like in Sydney, but if you were in Melbourne, with that car while on your red p plates, mate, cops will feast on you as if you were a box of krispy kreme donuts, they have dreams of pulling people like you over.

The way your modding your car, its making you look like your one of those typical boy racers who goes out and adds the biggest rims possible, lowers the car as much as possible, turbo gauges on an n/a, ugly as hell body kits, massive cannon cause louder means faster. I don't know if you've decided to get an aftermarket exhaust yet, but if you are planning to, 2.5inch is the max you should go, do yourself a favour, don't get a massive cannon, your car will be all show no go, I don't think anyone will be impressed with your skyline, the ones that will be though, will laugh when your getting owned by astras, civics etc, and youll only have yourself to blame with stupid mods like a massive cannon, huge rims etc.

Also your wasting your cash on this car. Most of the stuff your adding to your car actually devalues it because its just too much. I don't know how much you've spent so far on the car, but im going to assume its a fair bit.

You know how you see those girls who are pretty, but put wayyy too much make up on, therefore making them look ugly? That's kind of what your doing to your car. Probably not the best example, but whatever its 1 30am lol.

Anyways that was just my opinion, like I said, I wasn't having a go at you, in your defence the car isn't finished yet, so who knows, maybe youll pull off a miracle and make the car look spectacular. Anyways ill keep watching over your project, I cant wait for the next updates, keep it up.

Thank you for your advice. I noted what you said and im glad there is people who have faith.

Here's the front bar i just bought.

Hey, bunch of haters, hate elsewhere.

Seriously!

Its one thing to say "hey he's posting on a public forum so i can post my opinion" its another to say "hey he's posting on a public forum, so i'm going to be an asshole jerk!"

Keep the shit talk to the wasteland and dont put shit on others build threads.

    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
    • Hi,  Just joined the forum so I could share my "fix" of this problem. Might be of use to someone. Had the same hunting at idle issue on my V36 with VQ35HR engine after swapping the engine because the original one got overheated.  While changing the engine I made the mistake of cleaning the throttle bodies and tried all the tricks i could find to do a throttle relearn with no luck. Gave in and took it to a shop and they couldn't sort it. Then took it to my local Nissan dealership and they couldn't get it to idle properly. They said I'd need to replace the throttle bodies and the ecu probably costing more than the car is worth. So I had the idea of replacing the carbon I cleaned out with a thin layer of super glue and it's back to normal idle now. Bit rough but saved the car from the wreckers 🤣
    • After my last update, I went ahead with cleaning and restoring the entire fuel system. This included removing the tank and cleaning it with the Beyond Balistics solution, power washing it multiple times, drying it thoroughly, rinsing with IPA, drying again with heat gun and compressed air. Also, cleaning out the lines, fuel rail, and replacing the fuel pump with an OEM-style one. During the cleaning process, I replaced several hoses - including the breather hose on the fuel tank, which turned out to be the cause of the earlier fuel leak. This is what the old fuel filter looked like: Fuel tank before cleaning: Dirty Fuel Tank.mp4   Fuel tank after cleaning (some staining remains): Clean Fuel Tank.mp4 Both the OEM 270cc and new DeatschWerks 550cc injectors were cleaned professionally by a shop. Before reassembling everything, I tested the fuel flow by running the pump output into a container at the fuel filter location - flow looked good. I then fitted the new fuel filter and reassembled the rest of the system. Fuel Flow Test.mp4 Test 1 - 550cc injectors Ran the new fuel pump with its supplied diagonal strainer (different from OEM’s flat strainer) and my 550cc injectors using the same resized-injector map I had successfully used before. At first, it idled roughly and stalled when I applied throttle. Checked the spark plugs and found that they were fouled with carbon (likely from the earlier overly rich running when the injectors were clogged). After cleaning the plugs, the car started fine. However, it would only idle for 30–60 seconds before stalling, and while driving it would feel like a “fuel cut” after a few seconds - though it wouldn’t fully stall. Test 2 – Strainer swap Suspecting the diagonal strainer might not be reaching the tank bottom, I swapped it for the original flat strainer and filled the tank with ~45L of fuel. The issue persisted exactly the same. Test 3 – OEM injectors To eliminate tuning variables, I reinstalled the OEM 270cc injectors and reverted to the original map. Cleaned the spark plugs again just in-case. The stalling and “fuel cut” still remained.   At this stage, I suspect an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, caused during the cleaning process. This has led me to look into getting Frenchy’s fuel hanger and replacing the unit entirely. TL;DR: Cleaned and restored the fuel system (tank, lines, rail, pump). Tested 550cc injectors with the same resized-injector map as before, but the car stalls at idle and experiences what feels like “fuel cut” after a few seconds of driving. Swapped back to OEM injectors with original map to rule out tuning, but the issue persists. Now suspecting an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, possibly cause by the cleaning process.
