Yeah wakie and coota were awesome. wish I had got to see the hill climb as well.

the other thing re: changing cars for different rounds gives everyone a chance of running.

I'm sure there are guys with 9 sec evos in the evo oz club who would have loved the chance to run at coota. but they stuck to the same guys.

We planned on sticking to the same guys too but Nulon wanted to attract crowds and no better way to do that then bring 1000hp skylines :P

haha yeah. my thoughts too.

id rather see the even grow instead of being a bit meh with everyone running 14.2 @ 98.

spectators/bums on seats is what will make the event huge.

if foosball teams can change their line up depending on who the are playing we (all teams) should be able to as well

Exactly. And its up to the clubs to give Nulon something back for making the event happen :)

I believe SAU has done the best it can to achieve that.

Yep, Chris was stoked at our efforts!

I'm all for giving everyone a go, but there's only so many 12 or slower second cars that people want to see on a runway before it gets boring. Especially in a competition

We did our best over the 3 rounds and had a lot of support! To all the guys and gals that came to the 3 events a big THANKS :action-smiley-069:

Hell, I ran a mid 12 with a hole in my radiator and no belts!! lol

Lol still would have beaten me even with a busted radiator :P

I understand why Nulon chose to change the rules, and why we took advantage of the changes.

But personally I preferred the previous rules (ie a certain % of the cars had to carry over, I think it was 4/6). Also if they were my rules every entrant would have to financial member of the club and specific exemptions granted to run a separate marque than the club's focus.

And one other thing, although it certainly worked in our favour; I would have equal points available from each round. Round 3 was almost 50% of the available points which is too high a weighting.

In the end, this is meant to be a club event not a superlap competitor.

None the less, good on Nulon and Chris in particular for having the vision and commitment to go through with this, I'd love to see it continue.

I agree, the rule would have made it interesting to see who had the best all rounder... However we played with the rules and took advantage of them :)

2015 planning is currently underway so all feedback will be noted.

you'd have to create a user and login anyway.

They have been saying they are the only ones that kept to their forum models(all drove evo), and that we had evo and others.

Apparently we also didn't carry drivers over between rounds?

Baby's.

I think the rule change was better actually. Why not let all clubs bring the best field they can to all three events?

Really, a drag setup car is boring as shit to watch at the circuit and vice versa.

I know I wouldn't drive all the way to Cootamundra to watch only 12-13 second cars.

Either way you'll see that all clubs have their strengths somewhere. It's not like we fully dominated all 3 rounds.

I like the idea of equal points for each round.

Not too sure on the financial membership.

Not sure if evo_oz has financial club?

Also, as changed, I like being able to run the best the club/forum has to offer at each stage.

There aren't that many all rounders out there unfortunately.

So, the changed rules add alot more excitement to the events.

Not too sure on running the make/model the club supports.

I'm kind of for it.

I think Commodore club had a Corvette too!

I'm not fussed on the types of cars people bring as long as they're from the club/in their community.

It's not like we boot members out when they sell Skylines so why would we exclude them based on car type? If you want to get technical an R35 isn't even a Skyline so eventually leaves us to a point where we're disadvantaged because our cars aren't in production anymore and haven't been for a long time.

I reckon it's silly to have the same cars doing all the rounds, turns the whole event into a 1 horse race where the team with the 1 super fast car wins everything. Having teams pulled from a larger membership base better reflects the depth of the competing club. After all this should be about the club not the fastest car.

Also equal points per round would have been better. I think we still would've won but it would've been a much closer race. As it was the double points only really suited fast drag teams at the back of the pack (fords) and all round fast awesome teams :P

    • This morning I carefully reinstalled the manifold and started looking at a couple of things I need to do.  Heat wrap arrived sometime today so I popped into the shed with the missus dishwashing gloves and started wrapping the first half of the dump and the screamer/plumb back.  Once I do the second half I'll be able to final fit the turbo and exhaust up.  Also pulled the harness out today and started terminating it at the ECU end. A connector is done, just need to run the remaining wires that arent in the harness - 12v, gnd and couple I/O
    • A31 is pretty much the same thing without HiAIDS I mean CAS, no improvement lol. Not to late to send it.
    • Thanks for all the replies! I also wanted to ask if wheels that were fitted on Ford Falcons would fit the 350GTs as well? In the area I'm at there aren't that many options for secondhand wheels and new ones here are way out of my budget. From what I've seen, most of the wheels that are available that were fitted on Ford Falcons have an offset of +33 to +36, with a centre bore of 70.5mm whereas the stock 350GT's ones are 66mm, can't seem to find any hubcentric rings that fit that difference though.
    • 215/45/18 tyres are probably a little on the low side compared to the factory tyre, it should be closer to a 245/45/19, which will get you about an extra 11mm of height, and should make you speedo read a bit closer to reality. 245/45/19s will be a bit too far the other way and you risk a speeding ticket as your speedo might read slower than your actual speed.  245/40/19s would be correct if you are going to 19in rims, they will give you a similar total diameter to the 245/45/18 tyres.
    • That's something I forgot to put in my list. The aggressive anti-squat in R32 is a f**king menace. I still need to decide if I'm going to drag the subframe out of my car and weld in the GKTech corrector kit. The main reason to dither is the need to switch to spherical joints in the lower arm to account for the twist induced in the rear pivot caused by lowering the front pivot. And yes...we do put better subframes in R32s, and I wish I'd gotten an S14 one instead of an A31 when I did the "take off and nuke it from orbit" HICAS delete all those years ago.
