Thinking...time attack. Maybe the only thing the wife will be on board with. I won't be doing any physical car work for a couple months at least.
Notice there are NO brake marks in the picture at the end of the road...

I'm not going to talk about what happened yet but seems throttle stuck and I had no brakes at all. 20171216_195420.jpgdownload_20171217_180044.jpgdownload_20171217_180037.jpgdownload_20171217_180012.jpg

Been awhile... But I'm coming back to life slowly. 2 cracked vertebrae are definitely in there. Back brace and very light duty for 2-3 months, but no surgery needed. I was extremely fortunate (thank God).

Good news is I picked up this beauty local. Gts-4 that needs a little work but he has all the parts to put it back together save for a hood and front bumper. Oh and I bought my car back from insurance! It's destiny is the widebody gutted caged racecar I should have built in the first place!

Things to look forward to gentlemen. Less weight, more grip, safer car!

So wait, you're putting the stuff into the GTS4 shell and turning that into the track car, or turning the GTR into a track car and turning the gts4 into the every day fun car?

Also, sorry to hear about the inccident

GTR chassis is pretty much bent in half. All the GTR stuff into GTS4 as full caged track car. Super widebody though is the plan.

Plot twist - Made a deal on this.

Motor runs well. New -7 turbos, new exedy hyper single clutch, intakes, exhaust, new HKS hipermax coilovers, stock interior, stock paint (not perfect, but workable), perfect dash. No wrecks from anywhere I can tell. Also comes with new in box Haltech platinum PNP.

Getting excited! Found it local just about when I was getting the GTS-4 put back together.

I will say the -7 were a little more laggy than I was expecting. I guess stroker + EFR has totally spoiled me.

Sorry apparently had something on my camera lens. Oh and the car was super dirty from sitting in a warehouse for months.

Well...Lots of other projects out of the way. New house, new move, same hurt back (but I manage). Finished most of my other racecar projects (couple of E36 M3's with LS swaps and a MR2 Spyder with a 2zz 6 speed swap), but I'm getting back at it gents. Get ready...should be really really fun this time. The crank was FINE on the RB28 and I'm going to be putting all this back together soon enough!!! STAY TUNED!

Well this popped up for sale about 6 hours from me for a very fair price. I like that it's still pretty stock. It does have downpipe, full exhaust, and coilovers...but check out that stock airbox! (forgive me I've never seen one in person on the 10 or so R32's I have seen). I will keep this one stock and build the other chassis into a pretty healthy racecar.

A lot of people replace the standard air filter setup but the stock airbox is good for around 400kw. My Racepace built 32R uses a stock airbox still. In fact i went from a K&N pod filter kit back to stock airbox.

Car looks good. From the engine bay shot, it also has a Nismo strut brace with the BMC stopper built in.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
