Looking good mate keep it flowing. Id be sticking with 86mm pistons so you have meat in the block left to go upto a 86.5 and then 87mm piston if the motor is damaged. The benfit will be the block will have been heat cycled many times by then and alot stronger than boring a new n1 block straight up. Really shouldnt have too many issues either way. Also you wont have any maching headaches and expenses if you can find 86mm forged pistons, i havent really looked into it. I think the standard oem pistons arent probably a bad thing with the cooling channel.

How much was the seat and rails and who did you order it through, a very nice bit of kit there! The willans harness will go nicely with it

Also nice looking tomei baffle, although i prefer the nismo one the tomei will obviously do the job. Who is doing the rest of the work on the sump for you and and what cost. Are you planning to run the drain/vent to the head or just running one vent from the sump straight to a catch can?

Cheers Mick. Yeh mate spot on. It's looking like Arias 86mm pistons will be the go and going to run them with Nitto H beam rods

I purchased the seat and harness off here! Cost me $900 including the harness. It was a local purchase as well so no cost for freight! I believe Rocket Industries carry them but...

Yeah I can't justify the Nismo price tag for the baffle...we modify the Tomei one to suit the new winged/extended sump as well and it's easier to do so with a Tomei one

And yep will be running a Nitto head drain. It will be the same set-up as [1 OF A] but less refined ha. Just some black rubber hose, push on fittings, and no fancy RIPS catch can!

I've got a local guy in mind for all the ally work just gotta get over to his place and nut it out!! Never enough time...

Ok it's done

Nitto H beam rods

Nitto 86.5 pistons

Nissan N1 block

ALL BRAND NEW!! :D:D:D

Now onto getting the sump sorted...

So I now have a used N1 block for sale ready for sleeving if anyone is interested

Looking good robbie, was the block from justjap?

Cheers Mick, no mate just direct through Nissan as it was cheapest (trade price). Just have to wait a couple weeks for it as ex Japan

mmmm new nitto goodies....

Yehhhhh boiiiiiiiiii!!

Can't wait to see how old Quaifey performs...have heard nothing but good things!! Should put less stress on the block as well which can only mean good things

Mine is getting its first run this weekend... Interesting your comment about the block, what's the theory behind that?

    • Mine is all -12, I’m running a dry sump in a billet block though
    • HG's high flow is not "bolt on". The core is shorter, moves the comp cover rearwards in the engine bay. means you have to deal with the inlet plumbing a little bit. This is probably something to consider with every "bolt on" turbo anyway.
    • HyperGear. Just get a high flow of the stocker. Good, reliable, and should bolt on. Yes it will want things like a retune once done, so you need to factor this in to your spend too.
    • Hi. Iam looking for some "cheaper" bolt on turbo on RB25DET NEO. I do not want "big" power just better reliability than the stock turbo which is "fot now" good but is old and i do not think it has "easy" life. One the Skyline here running some "temu" china Turbo but i dont trust those... Thanks!
