Not that I care, but when modifying a car it has to all meet the ADR standards.

No changing can allowed, no more than a 20% more power etc.

There's something about changing to an older engine somewhere, which is a no no, but given an rb30 comes out with one cam, using a different head and cams although stock, is still changing the cam.

That's easily sorted by an emissions test though.

The 30 bottom end and 26 or 25 head is a bit of an oddball as far as the standards and law goes.

Agree this setup is perfection ^^^ if i was to go a single it would be very similar.

All will get sorted. Just needs time.

Nice to hear there is some hope among the gloom :)

I know I will be happy when it is done and love the way it drive already, I think it will be a good hill climb car.

The old set up was crap compared to how it drives now, even with the existing problems I am happier :)

Illogical statement.

It was crap because the set up for your previous engine was crap.

That's why you are having the issues now because you are using the same suboptimal setup for your new engine, which is crap right now. Right?

Logical isn't it?

Not having a go at you, just saying now you have the knowledge that your set up from when you bought the car was suboptimal you know why it drove the way it did. Don't ignore the elephant in the room when you are critiquing your previous setup.

Anyway all the best with it and I hope you get exactly what you want and even better than what you expect. :)

What previous set up are you referring to , 1 when I bought it, 2. when I changed the cams, turbo and exhaust 3 the 3.2 and this one is not finished yet and when it is I expect it to be what I wanted to begin with, fingers X :)

Here are the 3 dynos

So do you have a pic of the harmonic balancer ?

Cause if it is in fact controlled by the factory CAS that could be the issue :(

I picked that the build will require a crank trigger to sort out timing issues ages ago....

Those where the pics i've been looking for

Doesn't look like it has a trigger wheel :(

Factory CAS could very well be the issue :/

I hope not but I've seen it to many times

what problem does this cause

Timing scatter at high RPM due to the longer timing belt, this is the problem when an engine is controlled by what is realistically a rubber band

My advise now is DO NOT push this engine till the problem is confirmed just in case cause timing scatter can cause big problems

thanks for that, could have saved me a bigger problem, didn't need anymore :)

Glad you said that I was going for a run today and I have been too busy with the kids for a while.

I will ask them if they ut a trigger wheel on

Pete you'd know if they did, it would be on the bill. Until the murrayis kit came along they were not cheap.

Not on the build sheet or the earlier build before I bought the car, just the ATI balancer and damper ??

Do they make that much difference or more a safety precaution for the motor ?

    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
