Educated Guess At The Final Tune Results

Nismo 3.2ish

Ok - I find it all interesting but it looks like he is close to having what he wants a responsive non GTR acting motor aka V8 type response.

let the poor girl free let her breathe and rev like god intended. It is a thing of beauty.

OR I HAVE AN IDEA - There is a Super Charged RB32 here in nz somewhere. Give that a go.

haha, Pete is happy, because Pete is getting close to what PETE wants :wub:

Hold on , SUPER CHARGED I want one of those

RB32DERT. That should hopefully keep pete happy.

I understand what you blokes are saying and I love the sound of and feel of my car when it was high in the rev range BUT to use it as a DD and get to hear it, you would be in 1st gear all day or in jail :)

I will have lots of revs to play with that I can use on a daily basis .

This thread has gotten so large people will think it's a legit thread for people to post asking for predictions.

Guys my -7's is going on a flex tune soon.

How much power will it make?

Best daily is one that doesn't come on boost till 4k. Putter around all day under boost, no attention, no headaches

You can putter around if you do not extend the right foot as long as it is not too noisy and when you want to use the response push it when it is appropriate :)

Car will go in next week sometime

You have to excuse me if I do not get the humor ,I am an old man and of course you need to REV it to get it going, but mine , even now, not so much ?

I remember this car as a 26 when I needed to get the passengers out to help push it for a step hill start, it was so funny watching them scurrying to try to get back in :)

What ever happened to throttle control? Don't want to come on song, don't put your foot down. It isn't binary made up of 0's and 1's, throttle wide open or shut, mashed into the carpet or off it.

I just don't understand the logic of why you want all that torque and power down low.

Maybe its because I drove a car with a high stall for so long and loved the fact that for everyday duties it was lazy and much nicer and easier to drive compare to before the converter went in. Similar to changing from stock to -5s which made the car nicer to drive daily.

I suppose I don't like setups that are surgy and responsive that makes for a nervous and less livable drive for daily duties, for me anyway.

    • Been poking around on the new to me car. I've determined that I have a Kakimoto exhaust from at least the downpipe back (I haven't confirmed the downpipe yet). It has a catalytic converter. Other than the company branding on the exhaust tip, I can only find one other marking. Behind the cat and under the car is a plate that has the numbers "NF307FP" and "M11111". Unfortunately, the Kakimoto website is written in Japanese and my browser won't translate it. I found that Nengun sells the brand, but my exhaust doesn't look like their current offering. They do indicate that each pipe is custom made, but I assume that's more of an inventory control thing than some sort of special, vehicle specific tuning. Anyone have a guess about what I have here? I'm getting ready to throw some dollars at tuning this car, but want to make good decisions. No reason to throw out a perfectly good exhaust system, if this thing will equal a full custom build.
    • Congrats on the progress. That's got to feel good to get the build done/mostly done. Now that you're this deep into it, I'm curious if you'd do it again versus finding a 5MT from the get go?
    • G.G.C. (Gibier German Cook) restaurant in Motomachi in Kobe: A tiny 2 floor restaurant that was founded in 1976. The original couple who owned/ran it retired and sold the business to a corporation who pretty much tried to keep it the same as it was.  Lots of lesser known (to me anyway) German beers available.  Venison with vegetables. The meat came from deer from Hokkaido. The chef told us that there's a whole industry around the use of all parts of the deer from the antlers to the hooves. Sure enough, directly accross the street from this restaurant is a shop that sells all manner of utensils, clothes and objet d'art all made from deer skin, bones and horns.... also owned by the same corporation. The venison was super tender 😋 Various decorations, a lot of which were quite old, no doubt from the original owners. A nice pilsner too which I'd never seen before.  It's well worth a visit but check the opening hours, they're closed on Wednesdays, only open 11:30am - 3pm on Mondays and Tuedays, 11:30am-3pm for lunch and 5pm-11:30pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and 11:30am-3pm and 5pm-9pm on Sundays. Last order is 30mins before close.
    • Yep around 2m long or thereabouts.  I made another post in the photo diaries 17 years later lol. I swear it has not been that long!
