Your plugs will more than likely to be covered in junk by now.... this will cause the increase severity of the misfire problem.

You can learn a lot from pulling the plugs and 'reading' them (although it may be to late now). I'd suggest you pull them asap and post up photo's (keep them in order).

Replace the plugs and at least you will be able to drive it again for a few km's.

Honestly I can't see your O2 sensor being the problem (just unplug it if you aren't sure), fuel filter is a good service item, but unlikely to stop you from miss firing. A wide band is only going to help if the mixtures are actually getting burnt.... as soon as it misses, you will just get rich afr's off the scale-

I'd be buying/borrowing a new coil pack loom and a known good ignition module before buying another set of coil packs.

If you still have issues, pull the injectors and get them cleaned/flow tested.

after that... take it to a mechanic.

I had similar issues with my R33 s2.

I had checked and resoldered the pins in the afm for the plug, made no difference, but it was actually dry joints on the afm board itself. Fixed those up and she's been apples.

Also, is the z32 afm genuine? There are copies floating around

Xrated, it's a s2 motor so the ignitor is built into the coil pack. Unplugging the o2 sensor doesn't make any difference atm so I'm replacing it anyway.

Cef33y, I'll see if anyone in town has a z32 afm I can borrow. I double checked and mine is genuine.

I had the same thing happen to my Stag. I was sitting at the lights one day and it started running real rough. By the time I got home the car was real rough. I turned it off and it wouldn't start again. Checked this, that and the other, no good. Pulled the plugs and they looked OK, although a touch dirty. Changed them and bammo, car fine again.

Jam a multimeter in your car and see if your voltage drops as there's load on your motor or if you can just log it from your ecu.

I had a shit house misfire problem too, turns out was my stock alternator playing up. On idle, it would show up 13.8V but as soon as you increase the RPM it would drop to around 12.2V. Replaced it with a brand new Circuit Sports one and misfire gone!

New coil packs, new 02 sensor, new tps, new plugs. Starts, Idles and drives fine and smooth. As soon as you try and boost it, feels doughy as and misses and doesn't make any power. Still yet to fit a new fuel filter.

Still have to find another afm to try yet

Any workshops in Alice Springs NT you could recommend?

Its something that isn't affecting just 1 cylinder as the last lot of plugs were all sooted up. I just feel like I've gone over everything twice without any luck.

    • The ABS and/or TCS being missing/broken will not cause the engine to misbehave. It just casues CEL to come on and annoy you. The CEL is useless if it is always on, so you have to do the things you have to do to get rid of it, so it can be useful. Being a Stag ECU, then yes, it will not expect TCS to be present. But it will expect ABS to be present and working. You will need to either make the ABS CU talk to the ECU (don't ask me what that will take on an NA R34), and make sure the hardware is working....or, you just need to blank it out in Nistune. Do not persist with the stock ECU. You will just have problems. Gte it Nistuned. Start from there. DO YOU HAVE A BOOST SENSOR? The ECU's boost sensor that it. It is connected to the loom at the rear of the coil cover. Usually rides on the firewall on an R34, but is usually bolted down to a bracket along with all the other crap at the back of the coil cover when a Neo is dropped into another car. If you do not have it, the ECU will shit the bed. So, do you have one?
    • So sadly the fuel pump etc was not it. The pump and filter is new and it is still cutting around 4000 rpm. A read something about ABS/TCS (engine is from stagea and ECU too so no TCS) and i dont know for 100% that my car has ABS. It has ABS "cube" in engine bay but i dont think it works(or at least from my braking experience). Can be something like that?  I will be driving the car next week to Nistune tuner to properly see what is wrong...
    • the Tomei LSD fluid with lsd kit. frustrated that it was shaking the car to crap and affecting everything else negatively, I pulled the diff last night, and removed the lsd carrier, could not find anything wrong, however it seem to be 100 locked up acceleration, and deacceleration, wondering if they sent me a 2 way not a 1.5??  either way I installed the stock open carrier back in place. test drove everything smooth as butter again. no shake, shutter, random, what felt like clutch slip and grab or drive shaft play, etc. something differently wrong in side the lsd. I might bother taking it apart (if possible) to figure out what's going on inside this carrier, as bought too long ago to return.  only draw back is its back to a one wheel wonder.
