But it also why I don;t watch it anymore.

look at LMP1

you can have petrol, diesel, different forms of hybrids, different driven wheels, (yes we still love you NIsmo no matter how much crack you smoking)

and technology from it trickles down into road cars most recently the laser lighting system from AUDI.

either that for the FIA GT3 championship where the cars are still based on the factory ones.

oh and bathurst...cos beer.

yeah its much more exciting.

the 2 national level sports sedan series are 2-3 seconds faster at sandown than Carrera GT3 and V8 SC. and theyre basically budget motorsport compared to those teams (well, not budget, but almost grassroots really)

what are the national level sports sedan series?

Thought CAMSpulled their national standing?

i dunno anymore. theres the Kerrick National Sports Sedans Series and used to be another one, Victorian Sports Sedan Series. which is basically the sandown and winton rounds im pretty sure.

Sports sedans is stilla series but not a championship (no idea difference) but for the rest Yeah they all been given the flick as a "national series"

http://autoaction.com.au/cams-announcement/

cams basiclly Fked every-one who did not have a million to run a team.

they now to be State championships not national but all linked.

confusing and stupid really.

hmmmm.

im not sure how it should be done. but it seems that other than time attack and drifting, motorsport doesnt seem to be increasing in popularity or exposure or participation. its nice to see some new cars and victorian track backs in the V8 SC calendar though.

Fined because he breached "Safety" protocol by doing a burnout on the track in front of the grand stand...

Are they forgetting that he was on the track, the spot that 5 minutes earlier he drove over the same patch of asphalt at 250km/h?

I can somewhat see the logic.

there are still ppl racing for places so travelling at 200+ km over that patch, add in a heap of smoke and an unknown car, could go bad.

BUT..

considering every fan wants to see that, and that the only time he in front of the main crowd, plus I'm sure he pulled to the side and did it not just doing donuts in the middle, a quiet reminder that it is to be done after turn 1 would be more than enough.

ideally they should be encouraging a bit of showmanship after the finish to keep the human in the sport, every-one is on radios anyhow.

eg more of this...(NSFW comments)

and less PR planned stuff.

its not like he stopped on the finishline and did a skid... he would have passed the line as fast as everyone else and then slowed down/stopped. he was pulled over to the racecourse side of the track (not on the race line). and its not like he was sitting there doing an easternats level of smoke.

Bring back the land of "she'll be right"

Sick of bureaucratic safety and OH&S generally f**king up more lives than it saves

To quote Krusty I think the survivors would envy the dead

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
