wheels are wheels.

No, fake wheels will break as soon as you drive within 3km of a pothole, killing all people in and around the car.

You should really be safe and use a 30+ year old, repaired, period correct (but not for your car) ex-racetrack 80's Jap rim for maximum safety.

Lol a mate on facebook just completely snapped his Work wheels. No comment on what happened though

I went cheapo tyres again (probs do skids anyways), actually a fan of Achilles ATR sport.. for what you pay they are actually decent and I reckon better than a lot of the 'branded' tyres for 1.5 - 2x the cost out there. $160each down from $205 rears they're really holding up well going from 245 to 275 of the same tyre pretty big difference.

Also noticed I got some pretty bad inside wear on my old tyres from a little bit of camber + daily. Meh, I think I might drop it down about another 1cm - thoughts?

One you try some AD08s or RS3s you won't say that...you don't get twice the grip from twice the price, but the grip difference, wet weather grip, comfort and stability of your ride over bumps and just coming out of slip lanes is much notice wow

Red centre caps pay homage to the wrap around tail lights

Leigh I'm sure you considered this when choosing wheels

Lol, I do want to get rid of those taillights and put some G6 / GT black edition taillights on, look much better than the chrome in the xr6/xr8/gt/gs/ ones.

Like dis:

NT05s were good, but good enough to be over double the price to what I got now I'm not so sure about :\ AD08s in 19s I'm looking at like 2 grand fark that for tyres I'll burn through in a year

I know Hamish is a NT05 fanboy

They were great with my car at 325rwkw but that was turbo and very different delivery. They probably had a split second to grip unlike the early blown 8 torque

+1

Also brand new ling longs > second hand Michelins if you don't have much cash left for tyres

As long as the second hand quality tyre has majority of its tread left why would it be better than a brand new cheap set?

You wont get the same lifespan out of the second hand set but you will have much better handling instead. & with our cars setup for traffic light runs & tourist road runs rather than efficient running costs I would prefer the quality second hand set.

However Im rolling on the ATR's which came with the rims so yeah...

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
