They do come with mechinical diff. Race car rentals in few places in Nurburgring recommends more experienced drivers to rent it rather than a novice.

They don't feel heavy at all despite weigh about 1350kg from memory. If driven hard it does feel like RWD car

+1 (or 2, or 3?)

Rented Megane RS for 2 weeks and did 6000kms in it (up and down QLD, and via every side road/mountain range available).
Seriously fun little thing, left RS mode on the entire time and gave me an appreciation for magic FWD diffs (!) and electric throttles.. the fact that it gets ahead of you and opens throttle faster than you can put your foot to the ground is super fun.

I can see why people buy it and its competitors and why they are so popular now (hot hatches). They give you enough of everything and are extremely good value for money. No normal person needs more car than say a Megane RS/Golf R and just super capable everywhere, and livable.

I also have a soft spot for Renault's colors and stripes and stuff, some cool French design really grows on you there. Had a long chat with the guy with the Clio F1 182 at Broadford, these can be had for really stupid cheap for what you get.

Although nowhere near the level of the RS I learnt early on to appropriate a LSD in a FWD

not the quickest in a a straight line but fun in corners if you got it right.

plus you can pull handbrake without engaging clutch so on a skid pan you can kill off under steer and turn it into a over steer machine.

Buy Megane RS and keep the pocket change in case you bin it at track.

Buy RS6 and take out a loan for daily driver Civic in case everything goes wrong with it

Fixed.

Dont get me wrong, the RS4/6 is a cool f**king car. but goddamn, i couldnt trust spending $90k on an 8 year old, modern Audi with a lambo engine that has been "maintained and serviced only by Audi technicians".

and by technicians they mean apprentices assisted by handbooks and instructions.

If anything goes wrong with the GTR just upgrade it with aftermarket parts, probably a lot out there compared to some of those Audis

I wonder if I'd still be a manchild by the time I could afford a decent 35, smart thing would be pay off mortgage but #yolo right? Probably sell GS once it gets to like 100,000kms.. so about another 4 years, still going strong this thing.. only at 58k so no reason to get rid of it really apart from the usual 'getting over it'

Ferrari capital, Ferrari ongoing.

The only out of warranty vehicles I'll ever own are Jap or Aussie, in that order. Ironic that Japan practically forces short term update of their vehicles yet produces the most reliable and long lasting of all!

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
