Probably, no doubt it'll be worth something in a while. But I'll get bored of things before that point and want to step into something else for no real reason other than something different.

This is all based on the fact it'll actually sell, the market may not have many people looking for a gas guzzler big v8 sedan these days? not sure had like 20 favourite the ad I guess! No calls yet

In your pics do you have stock wheels or the concaves?

I think your only market is enthusiasts and people who can't afford the newest FPVs.

Black concaves on it yeh. Basically waiting for a P plater to get off Ps, take a loan out and get a fast car that's already mildly modded. Or an old guy that had a GS back in the day and wants a midlife crisis car, good thing is mine has all the FPV options all the others in vic have the 'pov pack spec'.

i got invited but didnt go. If I had of known it was a Northside meet I wouldnt have even considered going.
Mighty Car Mods made a 9sec Barra car, wheres your 9sec pass Leigh? you got 2 more cylinders and bigger guards.
Or are you all about those 2 wheel cars now? gonna sell the ford and move to a smaller, lighter and less fuel efficient subaru?

I enjoyed that one. It didn't contain half the video as moog talking about balls.

But no real sleeper has a straight pipe on it.

That power curve though. The barra motors just make power so effortlessly, pitty they weigh as much and are as large as a house.
Pretty good episode wasn't it, as if they didn't do a barra like this earlier.. bit disappointed it was only one episode though [emoji20]
Shows what the barra is capable of once you blow more air into it, the internet comments exploded with discussion of the 2jz being a better/worst engine still.
Lol barely been riding 2 wheels lately due to shitty weather, that's the only problem with bikes.. track day in the wet means you need wet set of tyres or risk snapping your shit up.
Ford is for sale, one of those 'will sell for the right price but may be selling for 6 months' sales. Generally FPVs holding decent value these days though anyway. And yes, might buy a decade old, shitty engined Subaru, unless you have better ideas for around the 40-45k mark [emoji14].

And sound like ass. But as a 6cyl it can't be helped. I didn't enjoy how much they glazed over the details like any many and his dog can do it.... Gives idiots ideas. Solid rear axel and huge diff? Oh yeah just chuck it in

Are you trying to imply that changing from irs to a 4 link setup with a 9" diff isn't a quick, easy, and cheap modification you can do on your mum's driveway?

Bought parts off a guy who had an EA Falcon he bought for $700. He'd put a Chinese eBay turbo and manifold on it, no tune, just running low boost off the actuator as a burnout / pig with a welded diff. It actually went pretty well all things considered. I guess the logic is blown engine = buy another car and swap the bits over in a weekend.

At Barry's the other day and a customer had a VR Commodore he'd bought for $300 - saw the cash receipt for it. Thing was awesome for a runaround daily; so much car for the money. I mean, I remember when you used to get shitheap VK Commodores and Pintaras for $500 15 years ago, but they were proper pieces of shit. Could be 90s kid bias, but the 90s Commodores and Falcons were when Aussie cars started getting powerful 6 cylinder EFI engines, power steering / air con, ergonomic interiors with tons of space. My counterstrike knife skin is worth more...

That being said, we once paid $1500 for a V8 Soarer and that is a lot of car / paperweight for your money (perspective).

i'm more thinking doing some drags but if that not work out, yeah burnout pig.

they had barra motors for 79$ recently on ACM parts   too cheap not to

That's ridiculous, and that they even allude to some sort of warranty...

One of the more surprising sleepers I've come across was a POS EL Wagon on the way to work, with a ladder strapped to his roof racks. Fluttering away, it gave me a pretty good run.

Or in a little, 5L mustangs should drop into that range, currently available for low 50s

do like them, but going from a 5 star ancap safety rating to a 2 star, no thanks. also the same engine with no supercharger

$158 8.0 V12?

Nah inline 12 is where it's at.... i'm sure it cannot be hard to weld the output of one to the input of the other.....straight enough is good enough in these jobs.

    • Yeah well per the video it took 15s for the stock unit to start up....even if I give it a few seconds discount for starting that is at least 12 sec before you get a reverse camera if you are trying to leave a park.  The android unit is way faster, but 2016 for the stock unit is a long time ago in consumer electronics
    • Yea that’s why I said ima test them with multimeter and see the reads.
    • Only at idle. Isn’t a problem when rev it seems.
    • @Haggerty This seems silly to ask, but are you confident in your ability to tune the Haltech?
    • Next on the to-do list was an oil and filter change. Nothing exciting to add here except the oil filter is in a really stupid place (facing the engine mount/subframe/steering rack). GReddy do a relocation kit which puts it towards the gearbox, I would have preferred towards the front but there's obviously a lot more stuff there. Something I'll have to look at for the next service perhaps. First time using Valvoline oil, although I can't see it being any different to most other brands Nice... The oil filter location... At least the subframe wont rust any time soon I picked up a genuine fuel filter, this is part of the fuel pump assembly inside the fuel tank. Access can be found underneath the rear seat, you'll see this triangular cover Remove the 3x plastic 10mm nuts and lift the cover up, pushing the rubber grommet through The yellow fuel line clips push out in opposite directions, remove these completely. The two moulded fuel lines can now pull upwards to disconnect, along with the wire electrical plug. There's 8x 8mm bolts that secure the black retaining ring. The fuel pump assembly is now ready to lift out. Be mindful of the fuel hose on the side, the hose clamp on mine was catching the hose preventing it from lifting up The fuel pump/filter has an upper and lower section held on by 4 pressure clips. These did take a little bit of force, it sounded like the plastic tabs were going to break but they didn't (don't worry!) The lower section helps mount the fuel pump, there's a circular rubber gasket/grommet/seal thing on the bottom where the sock is. Undo the hose clip on the short fuel hose on the side to disconnect it from the 3 way distribution pipe to be able to lift the upper half away. Don't forget to unplug the fuel pump too! There's a few rubber O rings that will need transferring to the new filter housing, I show these in the video at the bottom of this write up. Reassembly is the reverse Here's a photo of the new filter installed, you'll be able to see where the tabs are more clearing against the yellow OEM plastic Once the assembly is re-installed, I turned the engine over a few times to help build up fuel pressure. I did panic when the car stopped turning over but I could hear the fuel pump making a noise. It eventually started and has been fine since. Found my 'lucky' coin underneath the rear seat too The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLJ65pmQt44&t=6s
