You could always pay down your existing mortgage in the meantime... same same

That's where all my money is sitting... Feels good seeing the outstanding balance so low, but doesn't feel like my money is working for me, to use that cliché...

I'd say it'd be doing more if it gets me a property that someone else is paying off for me than it's doing reducing the interest on my loan..

If it's interest only like most investment properties the tennants aren't paying off anything. They are just paying the interest while you wait for capital gains

Good point, but eventually you'd aim to get it positive geared so the loan is coming down...

Or go with Alex's preferred option straight up...

Show me some of these large blocks...

regardless ham you need the interest paying and eventually they'll also be paying principal too. I prefer to view rentals as a revenue stream pay them

Off and positively gear them not too here or there on capital gains as I wouldn't intend on selling them

A few hours research will make them better value than bank interest at least, but still gambling and who knows when another GFC will hit

Totally remembering this post next time you downplay the GFC in a political discussion

Shoulda checked yo-self before ya rekt yo-self

I don't remember downplaying the GFC in any VWL discussions...that shit cost me at least 4-5 grand in share value and I got off lightly

All I've ever said about it is that Labor did not save us from its wraith by giving everyone $900 to buy some shit off eBay or feed gambling and alcohol addictions

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
