So what you're saying is that if you put 2 of these 1.5L 3 cyl engines in a line, you'd have an rb30, which is the superior option all round.

haha, I do not live in the City, 2 minutes down the road it is 80 another 2 minutes it is 100 and 50 klm of country road that has all of the features that make driving fun and I do it up to 7 days a week

I leave the City driving to you poor bastards

Oh and at the end of my road there is one of the best hill climb roads in NSW , Wooton Way. Mmmmm it is like driving heaven

Imagine how good the r35 could have been if nissan stuc with little engines!

Point is, just because someone has a preference to a responsive set up, stroker, 30 whatever doesn't mean its any better for daily duties than another less responsive one. Its just a preference. So all this bullshit about revving the f**k out of 26 to keep up with traffic and crap is just bullshit. IMO based on driving mine daily for the last 4 years is having it off boost in traffic is a blessing and my setup is much nicer to drive that my clubby was and the few ford turbos I have driven.

IN MY HONEST OPINION RESPONSIVE SETUPS SUCK MASSIVE ROD!

Why? because I don't like them, but not to say they are not good for someone that prefers them, but they are no more streetable than a less responsive one.

If I had close to stock response and 350-450wkw I would beat some tiidas and prius's and then I would push it off a cliff and start again.

Moral of the story find out what you like and build it.

You are OK with your car's setup because you drive around in a traffic jam, 1st and 2nd gear driving is fun , as long as you do not have a soft clutch, no problem.

As you said, the good thing about this is, you do not have to change your undies every time you go for a drive as it does not scare you :woot:

BUT, only 6000rpm or 7000rpm away from a MONSTER ready to eat the road , good luck with that as a DD in Melbourne City :action-smiley-069:

haha, don't shoot your Biographer, it was your story as told by you, I just put pen to paper so to speak and there's nothing wrong with a bit of stupid , the trick is , knowing that your stupid makes one a lot smarter and at times I can be pretty stupid, I feel smarter already :special: .

So, I am here to help you get through your fear on low rev speed. Starters, I will give you a few KW down low to start with, put a big spring behind your accelorator so you cannot push it too quickly and away you go :3some: :3some: :3some::yes:

My setup is worlds away from your old setup Pete, just remember that.

I will post up a video of my daily duties one day so you can understand it better, probably the easiest way.

Just quietly at least XGTRX knows what he wanted in his car, and didn't start a 100+ page topic that could have been resolved very quickly.

But that's none of my business.....

I am sure it would have to be MUCH better than mine, it was hideous to drive and try it with Quad clutch in peak traffic for 1 1/2 hours and you will understand why I hated the heap of shit :bomb_ie:

I am putting up my old Dyno off the 2.6 so some of these blokes know what I call laggy, so they will know what I mean and why I tried so hard to get the car I wanted to drive.

Now, I showed you mine, show me yours!

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
