Then prepare your ears for tyre squeal and bulk understeer, or has it still got the oem suspension package?

I have $3,500 worth of custom valved Tein's (done by MCA) in there :D

(wanna buy my old Jap KTS damper adj gear i took out? lol).

Gonna put the RE003s through their paces if I can. Only issue is I do not have oil temp gauge, has oil cooler - so gonna have to stick to 2 fliers just to be safe.

Sounds like a fun day.

What if we wanted to come along but not actually go on the track, is there still a $225 fee? (read through but I couldn't find an answer).

Wanted to come along to the event and meet some people in the SAU VIC and get their thoughts on gtrs :)

If you don't have an oil cooler, you're gonna have a very bad time. Once you see oil temp hit 120 back off as it's gonna climb top 130-135 before it starts to come back down.

R888 will be fine, you'll run outta oil (and/or brakes depending on setup) before the tyres will give out

^^^ This.

Guys get your oil coolers sorted before Jan 30th, good chance it's gonna be hot. I had to do two cool down laps after pretty much every proper lap today to keep oil temps in check. Brakes were good (DBA T3 + Remsa pads + Dixcel 273C fluid) and the tyres (fresh R888R's) were great btw.

IMO track = oil cooler by default mate.

For $800 or so, it's cheap insurance and will let you run without any issues (and to the limit of tyres/brakes) all day long.

Any recommendations on what to get? Would prefer something RB25DET Neo plug and play with a sandwich plate (with oil temp/pressure sensor spots) and good quality fittings.

What are the details in terms of times? What time do drivers have to be there and when does the track close?

The venue open at 7 and closes at 6. Track action should start around 9.

I've run a justjap kit for years. No doubt a $1000 kit might perform better, but for $350 the justjap kit works well.

If you do get the justjap kit, Teflon tape all the fittings.

How many cars will be on track for the timed session?

We're expecting 3-4 groups of timed cars. Groups are anywhere from 10-16 cars. It all depends on numbers on the day.

For the social event, when is the latest we need to sign up by? Is there a limit?

The Thursday before the track day is best. We'll end up doing entries on the day if we don't get the 80 cars max. But entries on the day slow sign-in, which slows the whole day a little.

    • I'm guessing you mean something like this size? https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/bodyworx-bodyworx-hard-soft-sanding-block---70-x-135mm/594184.html?cgid=SCA01100303#srsltid=AfmBOoq_qZTEe3boann9BaHiB2f59dxJlosWLzCr0zm_weHgUlDX-N5f&start=6 Are they sanded completely flat?
    • Just a standard sanding block size. With the rock chipa they are quite small. I sanded them as you could feel the edges.
    • Say you've just laid all your filler and your about to start sanding, how large is the sanding block your using?  Like a high fill primer? Technically possible but would be a nightmare. Just guessing from the photo, but they look small enough that you might get away with using a 1k spot putty. Normally you'd use something like this on pinholes but with the type of project you're working on I'd give it a go.
    • Omg Brake pedal removal.. FML!!
    • I mean, I can confirm the TPS is at 100%.... I can confirm when we installed the TB and setup the cable that the TB was indeed fully open at max pedal travel.. the same 'curve' (WRT MAP vs MAP) existed with the previous setup/TB/manifold as well... No, we did not do a run with no intake connected. I would love to go back in time to do such a run to rule out the intake. It would have also been good to do a run with the airbox lid off. There's a test there where increased IAT vs more available air could be a positive tradeoff. I remember taking the lid off my R34 Turbo setup back in the day and noticing a monster increase, even if IAT's did go up. Could be similar. Hard to test unless I find a very deserted road.
