Is there something up with Kudos Motorsports right now? I've ordered from them in the past and they used to respond to emails super fast but I've sent them five emails over the past 3 weeks and got a reply to just one. I know they probably closed for the holidays but even before then I wasn't getting replies. I would have assumed they would be open again come this past Monday but still no replies. I'm in the US so I can't just pick up the phone and call.

Over a month ago I placed an order for about US$1500 in parts and they said they'd get back to me on the status two weeks ago but that was the last I heard from them. I still need to order some wheel bearings and other stuff but don't want to do so if I can't even get in touch with them about my existing order. I know their website was on the fritz for a while but not it seems fine so I'm wondering what gives now. I had thought highly enough about Kudos that I recommended them as a parts source for US owners on my blog. I hope I don't have to retract that recommendation and they get back to me soon.

So has anyone been in touch lately with Kudos?

although i would say just relax, they always come through. this is the 2nd time in a few month period this has been addressed. i hope nothing is going wrong there, their a great business.

They do come through, I had an issue at the end of last month where I was e-mailing Andrew about an order (this is while the webiste was having difficulties) and part of my order was on wait for parts from Japan.

I forgot about it, and then followed up two weeks later with e-mails, calls and messages on facebook, I never got a response but the products came through about two days after attempting contact on fb.

I then placed an order just last week through the website and had the product arrive the next day.

I hope it works out for you.

Thanks for all the reassuring responses guys. To update on my situation, I never did get a response to my emails from Kudos but on the good side I did end up receiving my earlier order from them a few days ago. Because of that I went ahead and placed an order on their website for a couple of other parts I need but some other stuff that they could probably have sourced but aren't listed on their website I'm going to have to get elsewhere since I can't get through to them. Hopefully that situation improves soon because they used to respond so fast to emails.

  • 4 weeks later...

I can't recommend Kudos highly enough. I've ordered heaps of stuff through them over the last few months. Really well priced and fast postage. Andrew even personally delivered some engine mounts to the workshop, on a Saturday arvo, 3 hours after I ordered them.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
