Haha! Bring it on  That'll keep her happy  Don' think she was keen to sit and watch me zoom round the track by herself.

Yeah, it is going to be mad..... We can get smashed and hopefully there aren't going to be any 'red lancers' around to tempt you into driving at 2am..

Quick Ice update cause I went down at lunch.

Adzs car is done. Just got finished when I arrived.

Roy - your car - the water leak is fixed, the engine runs fine - but the wastegate still is leaking big time. The were going to pull it apart and have a look at the springs as I was leaving.

But personally I think what your car really needs is a few kg's of C4. I think that would be the perfect fix! :P

It only has an 8psi spring but i wouldnt expect it to leak that much, perhaps there is a bit if crud stuck in the seat of the valve...hope thats all it is. The internals were in top nic as i had to disassemble it before when a had the cast body bead blasted to clean up the scale.

Im heading off from work as i forgot my cars rego sticker :P then off to do soem shopping then stroll down to ICE and see the thing wants to run.

As for fuel i got no idea, i may pick up a jerry can this arvo just to save me running aound liek a headless chook over the weekend when i should be perhaps tighterning bolts on the car

Dotn even think about it, you all had your chance two weeks ago to blow it up when i didnt car...im so close now i just want it back :boinkcar:

Well I rang the events co-ordinator and asked him and he said he didnt know but that they had just re-done the BP in Cowes - so I looked them up and gave the BP a call and the guy told me they just started receiving it 2 weeks ago.

Funny thing is Adz called him 2 mins after I did and asked the same question! haha.

bastards.

having a track day at Phillip Island the weekend before I come down there to live for 3 months :) there better be another one soon.

Hope you guys enjoy yourselves :P

Another NSW Team Track Day Invader :P ... where will you be working? Flexible hours i hope Calder on a Wednesday and Winton on a Sunday

Winton is Fridays Troy (and Duncan). Hope the old 58Y made it home OK.

So who is going to bite the bullet and start the wrap up thread? PS I ran 1:58.5 as my fastest lap :( (and 2:03 on normal road rubber:( )

This was the most wicked weekend of track fun ever...REALLY

2 days of both wet and dry tracks with no major spills or lunched engines, even at 230+ into turn 1 and 165 at the apex. What oil surge ;)

Also have to mention the phenomenal drinking sessions and making a new friend in Emre (hell everyone was great). Cool GTR33 mate :D

Hope the old 58Y made it home OK.

Yeh home safe and sound :(

I can even say i had a good weekend...

Hopefully next trackday ill have the car ready, thanks to Scotsman and Skylinegeoff for Sat night and you persistance under the car :D

Roll on the next track day, the weekend was encouraging, i have a whole shopping lists of excuses, but still happy with a 1:58 dropping back to 5 cylinders and missing pretty bad...with more boost to come and a few susp tweaks to be made the car will be quicker then me

Dunlop should put me on the payroll...i think there are a few more subscribers to the cheater tyre school of thinking ;)

    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
