Call this guys up dude they pretty good tune cars and mods speak to sam

From what you've posted appears to be a graphics mob, a car audio installer and a panelbeater? Where does tuning fit into it?

Anyone have experience with Race Pace in Bayswater?

Yes, a forum favourite. Did fantastic work installing some tricky mods and tuning my GTS-T with a very safe and "factory" feeling tune - would happily re-use.

I've nothing but good things to say about Racepace. Although, I will admit they aren't the cheapest around, but at least you know it will be done right the first time. (In my experience).

Good to know! Now I've gotta decide between Racepace and Chequered!

May I ask what work you had done at Chasers? Just tuning?

Car was stock originally - They installed power fc, PFC boost controller, injectors, fuel pump, and high flow, then tune.

Finally got my r33 gtst tuned at chequered.
Car made 258rwkw at 17-18 psi peaking to around 20psi in the midrange.
Hks gtrs turbo, blitz return flow cooler, good 3 inch exhaust, 1000cc xpurts and other supporting mods.
Car now makes full boost at 3500rpm in comparison to full boost at 5000rpm it made with the OP6 hypergear highflow at chasers.

Personally I've been to chasers for a tune and i wasn't too happy with the outcome. At the time i had a hypergear g3 r34 highflow turbo on my r33 gtst, blitz return flow cooler, full exhaust and all supporting mods.

I was happy with the power of 250rwkw at 16psi, what i wasn't happy with was the fact the car was making full boost at 5000rpm.
When i saw the dyno sheet i had a chat to paul the tuner about why it was so laggy and he basically just told me it's the turbo and he can't do anything about it.

Even though i had a return flow cooler, exhaust was a bit restrictive (wasn't too bad though) and the bigger turbo i don't think i should have been reaching full boost no where near that late. I wasn't happy to not get any suggestions or solutions other than to get another turbo.

Not trying to bag chasers out or anything just sharing my experience, heaps of other people have been very happy with their service. Other than that the car felt way smoother to drive, idled perfectly, cold start was perfect aswell.

Imo if you have a hypergear turbo go to chequered since they deal with hypergear all the time.

Can't blame the tuner if you bought a shit turbo and have a less than healthy engine.

Much better choice of turbo!

Sounds like the tune was fine on the previous setup but the slightly tired old RB25 is letting you down a bit. As long as it drives good power is irrelevant.

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
