So I've done a bit of research but haven't been able to find a concrete answer. I want to get s15 3.69 gears into my R33 non abs diff. I have read that the S15's are apparently short nose but not sure if the gears will go into my short nose diff as there is an abs sensor on the front of the S15 diff like the R33 ABS diff but R33 is a long nose.

Can anyone confirm if I need an ABS long nose diff to put the S15 gears into or will they work on my non ABS short nose?

Thanks

All I know is they the pinon on the R33 non ABS vs ABS is different however the crowns are the same (if the same ratio, pinon & crown must be matched, ie can't use a 3.9 crown on a 4.1 pinon).

So Broscience kind of says you would need a R33 ABS diff lol.

All nissans post about 1985 are short nose not long nose R200s, but there were differences between models particularly non ABS and 3 vs 4 channel ABS.

There are differences in half shaft teeth and size, so half shafts and diff centres need to match

In an ABS car you need either pinion (3 channel) or halfshafts (4 channel) that match, ie have ABS sensors.

The crownwheel and pinion both need to be changed to change the ratio. I've never heard of an issue with R200 fitting any available ratio (there is an issue with gtr front diffs and r34 ratios...)

I don't know the specifics of your swap, but what I expects is the S15 gears will fit in the casing, the S15 pinion will have an ABS sensor which you don't need (no matter), and your current tailshaft will probably need modification (shortening) if the S15 flange is further away than your current R33 one.

ActionDan did a s15 diff centre swap and i think there were a difference in the bolts used to bolt the crown wheel to the centre which was a stuff around.
Is your current diff abs or non abs? as ADM s14 manual is 3.69 and is non abs so should be a bolt in job

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
