Hi forum,

First post. Are there people on this form, in Australia, who have swapped a V8 in their 350z, Nissan V8 or an LS motor? The stock VQ35 is amazing. Especially the in-cabin noise of even the stock exhaust sounds exotic—however there’s something really special and charming about a 2-seater sports car with a V8 engine and a manual transmission.

I’m also wondering if replacing the rear storage tub in the back of the 350 with rear seats out of the G35 (been done) would allow for baby seat installation. I mean how would one have anchoring points/ISO FIX in the rear of a 2-seater car?

It's probably the only way to make the Z33 & 4s palatable. The rest of us think that the VQ3X engines sound like complete arse. Nasty mooing V6 noise.

I was only thinking the other day of grabbing a cheap 350 to put an LS3 into. But then I realised that I also don't like the way that they look.

But yes. It's a good idea. Lots of fun** to be had trying to make the various electronics talk to each other though.

**ie, not fun.

friend did it with ls3 and blower was great but killed axels. Z's need a bit more go and they would be perfect.

The only good sounding V6s come from Italy.

Dunno....I really liked the sound of the Ford Capri 3000 GT from the '70's.....and I'm no Ford fanboy, not even close.  But they did get that Capri right IMO.

    • I used to have Walbro 255's when they were a pretty common update. (or were they 044? 040?) In any case I had a dirty tank. I thought the tank was good, but I would find the filter would clog in maybe ~50km of driving. If the issue persists, well, your fuel system or tank has crap in it that the pump is sucking up.
    • Hi. Ok thanks for the info. I/we do not know what tune is on that Nistune ECU so it is why there is stock ECU and that Nistune is for later when the car is done. I have guy who tunes Nistune and other ECU so i will then take it to him to see and properly tune for the car   And for the update. On 99,9% it is bad fuel pump. Which is wierd cuz it is like 2 years old(brand new walbro 255) and that filter (also brand new) was dirty.  I was alwaya pumped premium(100) on very good petrol station so i dont know how is that possible...
    • Dear folks My family members have 4 different cars : Triton 2015 and Corolla 2011 and Mazda3 2012 and Hyundai Elantra 2014 Looking to buy engine oil funnel spill free What I found are are below  https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BBTTJNKX?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image&th=1 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/145553221359?srsltid=AfmBOoqYBU6Ptw0LU_bAp_k67U3qkF97HHvePkA7iHZw8vUmiwoIRaRr https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09X23TCS5?th=1 Is there a funnel with attachment that fits most cars ? Don't mind to spend for a decent quality  Thx
    • Stock ECU (or more accurately stock tune) absolutely refuses to go over 10psi and behaves like you have seen. The Nistune is the same if it is the stock tune. If the Nistune chip has been tuned, the resulting tune could be literally anything for any combination of parts. The Nistune just makes the stock ECU Tunable.
    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
