By the way just a little off topic, does anyone know of any other insurers that insure imports and under 30 year olds apart from just cars insurance and the ohh so lovely shannons that want $4868.72 to insure my r34 gtt at $16000 haha lol.

Hah - GIO wanted $782 for CTP for the Lancer. No thanks - Shannons for $626.

still annoying though

Funny - you'll notice on your statement that the $$$ paid out to Shannon's goes into a GIO account anyway. * cough

Exactly, so I wonder why GIO wants the extra 160? plus the extra on top for not having to deal with a subsidiary.

BAH

Because the Shannons CTP is conditional. Not everyone can get one. Kinda like a members only price ;)

The government needs to stop increasing CTPs, I am trying to figure out how people on a lower income bracket can afford this. I'm imagining loads of uninsured/unregistered cars out there.

When I was at uni, I remember CTPs being $300 and that was crazy expensive, I wonder how students these days can afford $~770 + rego + pinkslip + insurance.

Saying that, last year it cost my accord more for CTP than the Skyline. Makes no sense?

Plus faked crashes resulting in faked injuries in SW suburbs of Sydney - assuming that 2010 reporting was correct.

Yep. Last 2 years there has been a 25% increase in ctp claims. That's a big increase.

All those bloody "compo payouts"

Orthopedic Surgeon:- Now Mrs Scam, show me how far you can lift your arm!

Mrs Scam:- Just up to here (hip high) doctor (struggling).

Orthopedica Surgeon:- Are you sure you can't lift it any higher?

Mrs Scam:- That's as high as I can go doctor.

Orthopedic Surgeon:- Well in that case, show me how far you could lift it before the accident!

Mrs Scam:- Right up (to the shoulder) here doctor.

Tried Lumleys SV?

They only do over 30's :'(.

You sure? I got my 34GTT insured through them last year and I was only 25 at the time. They were alot cheaper than anyone else, and had the highest value on the car as well, NRMA only wanted to insure it for 12 grand

back to my original question, how do less fortunate people afford CTP?

By having such high prices attached to CTP & rego more and more people will drive without rego and insurance. My friend's XR6 got smashed into by an unregistered and uninsured Soarer. That went no where, now he's out of pocket forking out for his own repair bills (as he didn't have full comprehensive only 3rd party).

Insurance said it was up to him to chase up the owner of the car, but that got no where.
