spotted a sliver S2 i think (only saw the side and back) at helensvale heading onto the motorway towards NSW, i was in the r31 sitting behind you from the lights... you've got a very tidy looking car there...

spotted two stages today!!! Exciting, cos i never ever seem to see any. Depressing, cos i think my exclusivity is dwindling....

ON TUESDAY

Twice within 1 minute on Morayfield rd, at about midday maybe, a red S1, VERY tidy cruised right past my work. i was out the front cluing a customer in as to what a stagea is at the time, and had just told him how uncommon they are, so that was fantastic.

Then, later that night, 10.15pm, a silver on, pretty sure it was an S2, at Chermside, pulling into the shopping centre carpark near Bob Jane.....

spotted a couple of stageas on TV they are on a new lotto ad for some new scratch and win ticket here in perth.

the guy wins money and goes to buy a car and the caryard he visits is Autowholesale who have a couple of stageas in the lot along with mark II's v35's delicas and other assorted imports was pretty cool.

yeah between my G/F and me driving the yellow peril it seems to be gettin a lot of road time and the bike is lacking a the same.

most times i am guessin you be seein my car at or near the pub hahahaha well lately anyway.

you know how it is when some days you just seem to wake up "thirsty"

spotted yesterday arvo outside murwillunbah art gallery green s1. nice to bump into you and your wife hugh.cheers leetom

Yep. Had a great chat with Leetom. With all the rush to get back home after my 13yo called to say he had broken his arm, I forgot (well I am 66yo) Leetom's name.

He has a very nice 97 S1 with a Dayz and spoiler. Great (clean) silver , and split dump and 3".It also has slightly different switching layout on the dash. It's also got heated mirrors and a heated windscreen.:laugh:

It was a bit of a shock when he parked along side. One of the nicer parts of the day.

lol yeah, I do see it/you at Michelles place quite often. I live just around the corner from her, I'm not actually stalking you!

In case you hadn't worked it out, I'm the guy in the black R32. I have extremely hazy memories of having a chat to you at The George one night recently!

hahahaha yeah that was a rather large evening at the rim of the glass that one i sorta remember talkin to ya but wouldn remember what ya look like champ although i do know the car.

and ya will be seein more of the car as i will be movin in there soon cos i am sick of payin rent for a house i don live in.

ya may have heard the bike too at some stage cos she is kinda loud in the mornings when on the way to poke holes in people in geelong

spotted in my garage finally!

funny a pic like that should show up actually - stagea and a territory.

I wandered up to my car the other day up the coast to find a built skinhead with his hands cupped to my windows looking in (i half thought i should just let him steal it and hope i get it back in one piece) but it turns out he had been dead certain that it was a slammed territory... about 10 minutes later though, a pushbike cop thought it was a volvo, and was asking me wierd Q's about "am i going to put triple carbs on it" or "just supercharge it". I just nodded.

    • I suspect 550s are on the large side for happy operation with a stock/Nistune RB20 ECU. The Hitachi ECU doesn't love short pulse width operation, and the RB20 doesn't need much fuel at idle. Big injectors can be unpleasant. This could be contributing.
    • Yeah, I still don't know why the idle speed control can't catch the falling RPMs. In the Consult logs I see the AAC duty cycle rising, but suddenly it goes lean and the engine stalls. Anyways, the relevance here is the DW 550cc injectors are probably the same. So if OP has similar issues I would be tempted to finger those injectors as problematic for whatever reason vs the ECU failing for some reason.
    • Yeah, sort of blurring two different things together, aren't we? I just meant O2 feedback closed loop. I used to have a 0-1V LCD meter on my dash, wired directly to the O2 sensor signal. So you could easily see what it was doing. Normal running it would flick back and forth nicely. Slow down to an idle and it would keep flicking, as the ECU tried to servo to maintain stoich, but it would slow down as each swing happened until it would stay at one end of the scale. As I said above, the sensor heater is not enough to keep it hot enough when there is also little heat in the exhaust flow. Give it a blip and it would start swinging again, then peter out again. Meanwhile, idle speed control would run just fine, because unrelated.
    • It's not even O2 feedback, it's just simply when the ECU sees the closed TPS signal for whatever reason the idle will start steadily dropping until the engine dies. With the TPS adjusted to not trigger closed TPS it will idle at some ridiculously high RPM and something like 6 degrees of timing. In the absence of getting eyes on it personally and a lot of quality time doing diagnostics I couldn't tell you what the real problem was but it was interesting nonetheless
