Holy crap... just got back from the Classic Celica Cruise in Sydney. 11 of us driving, we get on the M5 and all get separated after a few take a wrong exit. I wasn't planning on getting separated... I had no ones phone numbers, my CB was out of range, i had no map, no GPS, i didnt even know what street I was on or where i was going... I was asking for directions from everyone I could but Sydney people are jerks, they helped but I would just end up more lost then before 2 hours later I stop at a BP to buy a map (It took me so long to find a petrol station i could actually get in to), turns out the BP is on the correct road and made it to the cruise and still managed to beat 3 of the other Canberra guys there.

Fun apart from that shitstorm, i was so close to giving up and driving home... I managed to pick up my PS3 and GTA IV aswell :) So now im going to take out my rage on a video game

also just got hamburgers and chips from the food van at woden... chatted to the guy and he owns a GTIR pulsar so I told him to go to the museum.... so... like... if some random pulsar guy turns up next friday...that's why :)

you were on the M5 but you got lost getting to canberra ??? :D

btw LOVE that yellow lambo!!!!

no, not that bad haha.

Was from Canberra heading to homebush stadium. They pulled off the M5 at the wrong exit but took the next on ramp which was no more then 200m down from the exit, i couldnt swerve back in time and got separated without any map, gps or phone to call anyone so naturally i drove around looking for a sign to Homebush and got completely lost.

Was a really nice place for a car meet up. Heres some pics i took

fun story from 1 hour ago.

Think i've already said it here but next week we leave the property and will be back living in Canberra so we have to get rid of all our paddock bashers. No drama, only 1 still ran so i got permission from my sister to absolutely destroy it before EZscrap comes. So alls going well, plowing through trees as usual when me and 2 friends (they came to take one of their paddock cars home, still regoed , this was all a spur of the moment thing) decide to take the car off some sweet jumps. Things escalate until we get a fair amount of air and land what feels like nose first into the ground. Whiplash for all.

So its my turn again, i drive it through the forest area and decide to side swipe a tree, i get too close and get whipped (hard to describe, basically hitting too much on the left side caused me to sling shot further to the left) directly into a gigantic tree stump. One of my mates in the back seat had instant bruising across the stomach and i nearly face planted into the steering wheel. The damage was weird, radiator still mostly intact but everything underneath it was pushed back 50cm or so. Car still runs so we drove it back to its original parking spot.

My neck is killing unsurprisingly, can't wait till the morning to feel the real pain haha.

It was a good send off from farm life

Has anyone else been seeing flashes of light in the sky the past couple of days

Aren't they aeroplanes?

Anywho... I was in Sydney on Monday at a caryard and some guy walked in and was asking about importing the new r35 GTR or whatever its called.. he got quoted $165,000.00.. I thought it was more than that.

Has anyone else enquired about the 35? (or whatever its called)

nerm

Has anyone else been seeing flashes of light in the sky the past couple of days? or are the aliens just targeting me lo

While I haven't seen the lightning I've been watching over the last 2 days the clouds turn from fluffy clouds into big towering storm cells down here in Tuggers.

haha silly cars, thats what my dads new 50 year old wife calls them aswell, must be a generational thing :woot:

well since she's nowhere near my generation I wouldnt know!!! :)

actually I thought everyone called them silly cars ;)

Aren't they aeroplanes?

lol smartarse :D

so we're getting a storm soon? apparently there was supposed to be hail in sydney tonight...

the light I saw was in Manuka and it was kind of like a red light camera flash but way higher up and bigger. I guess it could have been lightning. I thought there might have been something on somewhere.... was kind of weird..

$14500. I stupidly just accepted rather then ask for more but im happy with that.

21 year old guy new to Canberra, I'll tell him about the forums and see if he will join up so i can keep an eye on the my old car

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
