I will need to be taking Rosie throught he pits soon - hopefully next week ! From people who have heard Rosie - do you think the dB is at a legal level?

Rob - Do you have spare stockies / legalz - we can finally do that swap you've been wanting to do !

Apparently aftermarket airflow and intercooler normally gets passed? A mate of mine was telling me when he went through it was fine.

Everything should be legal - I do have UV tinted glass with stickers indicating it is on the glass (Not in the glass) so this may cause an issue as it has been caused an issue for other people - I shall see !

Other then that, I think I am set !

On another note - Rosie could be fully paid off next Thursday which I can start putting money away for 250Killa-Wasps.

Time for everything to be completed with Rosie being ACT Rego'd with 250kW is estiamted at 4weeks. FINGER-ROOS crossed !

I'm running stretched tyres :( The guy said he would put new tyres on the car before I purchased it and when I agreed he put 275's on the back (And I quote "Beucase they look fully sick") which have overly stretched the tyre on the 17" rims.

What size are your rims? You can go up 2 sizes can't you?

Lip to guard distance is the governing factor (assuming you didn't widen the track of your car by a ridiculous amount). For example, TECHNICALLY, the standard R33 GT-R rims needed to be added to my engineer's certificate, even though they're only 17x9" +30 (or +35, can't recall).

Dude. I would honestly take it in with the rims on it. The car will fail for some reason anyway (because its dickson). Just see what they say.

Can only take it to Dickson - so Dickson it is :D

This is likely. It's probably too loud. Mine was 92db. Guessing more like 122db now.

Regardless of Tyre Size, How Wide Are Your Rims Jeremy?

I recently put my GTR over the pits with 17x10 and they said its fine if the track width is no more than 10mm out either side. What size and offset wheels have you got?

I can do some calculations if you would like

I will have to check :D

I'm going to go over the pits as is (already booked) so I got my list - I'd rather them fail me on simple things and get them all done up then spend 1.5hours looking for a fault to fail me on. I just know the rims are not going to pass so preparing.

What i mean is it will fail for something else. So borrow rims you know will pass when you take it in the second time. Just to save you time.

Haha it's either Red or White sorry guys

Not going black again because it always looks dirty and I'm over cleaning.

This is why I want to go red

    • Yea that's a fair assumption. I'm presuming they call them solid lifters as they have no moving parts like hydro lifters.
    • I believe you're confusing WMI with water injection. Looking at that graph, the 93aki+WMI car is making more power than C16 race gas. Boost juice, which is what I also run, is Snow Performances 50/50 premix.
    • GCG is a good company, they're a major distributor for Garrett in Japan as well.
    • Nah, OEM washer bottle and brake fluid reservoirs are fine I don't know what it is with the plastic that Mazda used, some plastics, like the washer bottle and brake fluid res are fine, and still look new after 20 years use, where as the coolant expansion tank, and PS reservoir, that I replaced with new OEM items when I first got the car, turned yellow and started getting brittle a few years later If the dirty yellow stained plastics didn't trigger me there wouldn't be an issue, but they did, much like the battery bracket....... Meh As for going back to work full time to support car stuff, nope, why, because I own a Mazda NC MX5, not a Nissan R series Skyline 🤣
    • I've never heard of CJ-motor, so can't advise you on them. I'd just go straight to GCG for a GCG highflow though. Seems no point to use a middleman. I'm somewhat surprised that the price on the CJ site is lower than the GCG retail price. Even though CJ would get a discount of some sort, you would hardly expect them to give up so much margin. Maybe the price is out of date? Having said that "I'd go to GCG"...when I did my highflow, I went to Hypergear. I did this https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25dethighflow/#tab-dyno-results with the R34 OP6 450HP profile. With the BB centre (extra $400) and intially with the standard boost actuator, but I eventually got him to send me the high pressure one when I got to the point of being able to actually use it. Ends up costing the same sort of money as the GCG highflow, but this is, of course, the turbo that I KNOW has a shorter length core and so moves the comp cover rearwards. The GCG apparently doesn't do that. My mechanic also swears by the GCG highflow, given that we have another turbo rebuilder who does something essentialy the same as theirs, using Garrett wheels. He says it stands up at really low revs and makes good power. I haven't pushed my HG highflow past ~240-250rwkW yet (should have a little more in it, but unclear how much) and it does have a fairly gentle boost ramp. OK, it's much better now that I have gotten my boost controller tuned up on it.  A lot of my earlier unhappiness was because I couldn't keep the wastegate flap as closed as it needed to be (including some mechanical issues). I'd still prefer it to boost up nearly as quickly as the stocker, and it certainly a bit slower than that. So maybe the GCG one is worth the first look (for you).
