Well I think it's time for a new topic since most of the topics in the Vic section are getting boring..

So, just wondering - What are your "rules" when you have passengers in your car?

Mine are:

1. No smoking in the car - ever

2. No eating or drinking unless I say it's ok

3. No farting in the car (except for me ;) lol)

4. If [ex]girlfriend is with me, she rides in the front - no exception. Otherwise, shotgun rules apply

5. Dont play with the electric windows

6. Dont touch the stereo, if you dont like my music you can walk thefinger.gif

7. No complaining I'm going too fast

There's a few others but that's all I can think of for now

THANK GOD no one is going to have to put up with that

Well for another 19 days at least

:D

1. no smoking

2. no changing the climate control settings / music without asking (except girlfriend)

3. feet on ground at all times (not on seat and especially NOT ON DASH)

4. no sex

5. never touch my horn... ever

eating and drinking (including alchol) are allowed, drive-through is encouraged.

that is all.

Waz.

7. No complaining I'm going too fast

I'm the opposite with that one.....if I have a passenger that thinks I'm going too fast, then I will slow down, simply because I'm a shocking passenger.... i hate being a passenger in other peoples cars, i much prefer to be in control.

The only other rules that really apply are that you shut up if i say "shut up".

(anyone who has ever had kids in their car will understand!)

1 - no smoking

2 - no obscenities to passers by ESPECIALLY if we're coming up to a red light! my car will cop a bottle, not u...

3 - obviously no stereo control unless i advise so

4 - definately no touching of climate control.

5 - farting is only allowed if i have had pre-warning and can prepare with all windows down.

6 - dirty shoes = hold em or clean em... or ur walkin

7 - drinking is acceptable, but not between gear changes.

8 - shotgun rules always apply.

that is it i believe

lol, you blokes are exactly the same as me, just as much of a fanatic

1. No eating or drinking ever - even i don't do it

2. No one from the beach gets in. If I drive anyone to the beach, they either don't swim, and no walking in sand, or they walk home.

3. already mentioned - no pressing buttons of any sort (radio, windows are locked, aircon)

4. defintely no touching driving controls - you cause an accident, you die

5. don't complain about the ride, otherwise, you can buy your own car and drive yourself. you can complain about my daily driver because it's a piece of shit

6. no dirty people - as in swetty people etc.

7. no smoking in car EVER. If people wanna smoke, you can sit outside for 10 minutes first to let the smoke go away.

8. sex is allowed, as long as it involves me and another girl. no one else

9. don't complain about my driving unless you can do better, and have constructive feedback e.g. the other day, a lancer driver goes, why are you shifting so roughly. my response - because my clutch is a twin plate, and not a featherweight lnacer pinner clutch that you can almost launch it and it'd still be smooth

10. lol, and anything else i've missed is the rule as well.

i know i'm a bit of a fanatic...but what can i say. I love my car

yeah pretty much same as everyone else but heres some just to make me special.

1. passengers that are sitting or goin to sit in the back must enter and exit from the passengers side, unless theyre a chick.

2. im driving the car so i boost anytime i want to, not anytime you want.

3. absolutely no yelling obsenities to other people/drivers unless u know them.

4. dont pick ur nose in the car, if u do keep ur finger up there untill we get to where we're going.

5. whatever money you drop in my car and cant find its mine!!

6. dont put ur knees soo close to the gearstick, i dont like touching another mans knees at every gearchange unless we agree on a price beforehand...LOLz. this rule is waved for the ladies though.

7. i fart when i want to and if theres a problem the passenger powerwindow lock button has the final say.

and finally

8. shotgun rules apply but if you make a big deal about it then u have to wear a wacky 1956 U.S navy hat that i bought from spain at a flee market and keep in my car at my discression.

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
