Referring to the photo regarding to PFC settings 3. Does any 1 know why my Air Flow settings would have been changed from the default of 100% to 0.0% in all 8 boxes when I was

having every value as 0.0 means correct the load axis to 0

this will make the car run like ass and im surprised it starts

put them all back to 100.0

http://www.paulr33.com/powerfc-emulator/me...t_afm_ramp.html

the value as covered by the pfc hand controller emulator is correction scaling

this influences the final load axis the pfc uses to select IGN/INJ correction off the maps

I have an EL hand controller in my hot little hands.....however both my cars with PFC at at mechanics atm. I am 99% certain it is the same as the old controller, just coloured and ricier.

updated

added confirmation new EL hand controller supported models (all PFC's except for Toyota JZX100 Auto)

awaiting pics from duncan of new EL hand controller

OK, had a chance to have a look. All functions are effectively identical to the normal HC (contrast page is different but has the same purpose).

The firmware is at least a little smarter, my old HC used to come up blank when being used via a PS2 extension cable whereas the EL comes up with "communication error". But all the actual tuning and monitoring functions are the same as the regular HC.

anyway pics are pretty crappy (no interior light in the race car :thanks:)

attached:

serial number

version number screen

start up logo

el contrast control

even so...it is very ricey and I'm not sending it back

question...

I have a pfc numbered: pfc rb25 9810-0049

Now i took the car to be tuned, but the tuners software wouldn't recognize the computer, said i would need a hand commander unit for him to tune it.

So i borrowed a mates commander which was off a pfc numbered:ecr33 and what ever numbers i cant remember, which worked fine.

Now im trying to buy my own commander, just brought one numbered: fcc nt9607-0464....BUT it doesn't work, just goes to the apexi screen and stops there, but from everything ive read, this unit should work...???

Could someone please point me in the right direction..

ie ap eng, pro, normal spec and every car

i will add to the PFC FAQ shortly

check your serial #

FCC NT should work on PFC RB25 powerfc

A hand controller from ECR33 serial # powerfc should NOT work on RB25 PFC serial # as they are different models

ie

PFC RB25 needs FCC N001 which is FCC NT

PFC ECR33 needs FCC X001 which is FCC2 or FCC3

you can buy the new EL version which will work

tryed the hand controller again, with the same result...

Pulled the cover off my pfc and stick on the chip was: fc rb25-2

So i dont know whats up other than buying the new el model..

very frustrating

if you said you used a mates hand controller and he has PFC ECR33 serial # then yours is labelled wrong

its the only thing that makes sense or its a non-std powerfc or something else is wrong

N001 or FCC NT should work on PFC RB25 XXXXXX

X001 or FCC3 should work on PFC ECR33 XXXXXX

the first two digits of the serial # is the build year

so yours was built in 1998 apparently

Has anyone had this type of problem before?? My 33GTR Powerfc Pro is not linking up with my handcontroller or FC datalogit. My GTR has a normal FC running at the moment so i know the hand controller and datalogit are fine, but the pro wont link up although starts the car and runs, abit rough as its a unknown tune from the prevous owner... When i purchased the pro 3years ago, i hooked it up and everything worked fine, i varified it was the PRO and let it sit ever since... Anyone had a similar issue??

i have a PFC pro have had no such drama's mine was brand new

maybe try a full INIT

Thanks for the reply madaz i cant get into the menu to init it unforuntely its funny it worked fine a few years back now nothing...

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
