Can anybody that's upgraded their rear rotors on a c34 comment on what rotors they went with?

Supposedly the rda and dba rotors require machining...?

Would be nice if there was a direct fit (besides the stockies)

Cheers,

Adrian

r32/33/34 rears bolt on easily (whole setup, rotors + callipers)

but you are probably just talking about upgrading to new rotors

can't help you there

  • 3 weeks later...

I can confirm these 350z 324mm rotors (with dogbone caliper adapter) fits the S1 without many issues

a bit 'dodgy brothers' in the sense the dogbone is bolted on and caliper bolted onto the dogbone, but Boy do they work well.

tested at the track and stood up well to the braking pressures applied..... cut a few seconds of my previous best time as well.

What type did you get the turbo or non turbo type? how much did they cost to get over here? Unique autosport also has a set with 2 piece rotors that looks good

In case anybody is interested in a direct replacement rear rotor for a S2 C34 - I got the RDA 7657s which does not require any machining.

after reading that, it seems like the non brembo single calliper 350z brakes/murano brakes could be a good upgrade for s2c34/m35 people

324mmx28 and really cheap, only down side is that its only a single piston calliper but if you want to upgrade but don't want to spend $$$ on brembos/r34 brakes or have to buy/change wheels this could be a good solution

We have the early model non-brembo single piston 350z brakes. They are 296x24mm and are shit.

There is a later model one apparently - 320x 28 form late 05 onwards. Really, as an upgrade I wouldn't be looking at them.

But as you say - if you don't want new wheels/ trying to save $ it might be worth it to investigate.

Well I got the 33GTST fronts today to fit to the 25G. They are 295 X 30, 2 pot. So they should pull up the Stag when the turbo is fitted.Still sourceing rear sway bar, its RWD, and front strut brace.

That link also says 350z track is the non Brembo, but thats touring. Track has Brembo, which makes a good upgrade for M35s. Ironpaw has a set and he seems happy with them.

best bet is to pm iamhappy, he has a fwd 5 stud converted, vq35 running n15 (or maybe n14) pulsar so he knows a bit about nissans and a bit about vq's (but probably not all that much about vq25's)

So does bbenny and rosella. Spoolin is running akebonos from the 370z/v36...

I got my z33 brembo rears fitted yesterday, the bolts were a different pitch, other than that no issue. Should get the r34 brembo fronts fitted today, and the braided stainless lines. :)

R34 brembos are the same as the z33 ones aren't they?

Well they did not fit.:(. So they are going on to the RS4. But I need to get some M12 bolts which is not too hard but also need some sleeves to accommodate the smaller bolts.Anyone know where these can be got or have people had them made special???????????

Can anyone confirm if Z34 front brakes will direct bolt onto an NM35?

I'm looking at the non brembo brakes, so it's a 325mm x 28mm disc and single sided twin piston caliper. I can only run these due to the fact my new rims are an A disc face and they won't clear a 4 piston caliper :(

No they won't. You need adapters for z34/v36 akebonos. Spoolin runs those brakes but he bought the whole pkg from the us which came with the mounts.

The z34 brakes are 4 pots as well...if the ones you had didn't fit I doubt these will.

Unless you've made a typo and your referring to the z33 touring brakes?

Im looking at the non Akebonos, so I assume they are the touring?

From the pic the calliper mount bolts look a long way apart. Is this what Spoolin needed the adaptors for?

Different disk offset I think mate.

That also happens when trying to fit R33GTST to a 25G N/A RWD. However I do not know if a 25G RWD has the same front end as an N/A R33GTS RWD.

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
