Motsons Qld

Got mine installed at TT (Vic) $350 i think, with alignment (shocks/springs/camber kits front+rear) + plus fiddling with the adj swaybars i had in there.

Very reasonable price i thought.

sent PM 7 days ago with a reminder 4 days ago .. just needed to confirm the order amount as I'm not getting everything from the kit. This is pretty fricken appalling service I must say.

If it takes more than 7 days just to get a "this is how much you need to pay ..etc" how long does it take to receive the item? I don't want to pay close to $1500 to then have to chase it up for weeks like someone's doing me a favour taking $1500 off me.

Re installation costs ... I've been quoted $550-650 by the 2 NSW places (heasmans and east coast) so a fair bit pricier than the vic joint.

SK gets dozens of PM's, EVERY DAY, 50+ possibly, most of it probably doesn't even pertain to group buys.... he doesn't make money off these kits and basically has offered, free, damn right impressive, advice on these forums for years. The closest thing we have to gospel around here.

Please be patient, he or matt (i think is the other guy) will get to the PM.

Centreline in Vic quoted $500, and that was a "special" price for me! Centreline sponsor SAU Vic, of which i'm a paid member (10% discount i believe) AND i also had a 20% discount voucher ONTOP of my membership. Best price? $500 :P

Traction Tyres do great work, 2 guys working on it, multiple test drives of the car, adjusted my sway bars for me as well. But for those comparing i ONLY had shocks, springs, and front/frear camber kits installed. If you're getting higher quotes, it could be because you have more stuff being done.

Once parts are sent, Toll priority are very quick.

If anyone here has got the sway bars on coilovers could they please let me know there results. Also interested if people feel happy with castor rods?

Cheers,

Lol not exactly.. Coilovers as in coilovers.. adjustable height and dampening rates etc.. As they are alittle harder than the springs im interested if big differences are noted. Im assuming they would be.

How do you find the adjustable bars with your setup then? Is it stockers or sydney kids setup?

Cheers

Nathaniel

i did SK's kit in stages.

bars first, big difference, noticeably flatter cornering

springs/shocks second, bigger difference again, car felt more planted, more stable, and cornering was even better again. Camber kits installed and setup to SK specs.

bilstein/whiteline ride is fairly firm, but felt great at Sandown...

all the damper adjustable stuff can be a bit of a wank really. Just get adjustable sway bars, that's what matters more.

what coilovers you looking at?

Ive had greaddy type s (best in japan supposedly) extremely soft which is nice however looking for more handling performance :)

So sways it is.. Any difference in feedback or rough feel?

Cheers

Hello SK,

i PMed but got no reply. I received my setup. now on the front shocks i got a small ring, bolt and washer that wasn't with the rear shocks. can you please tell me were the small ring is supposed to go?

chris

    • I found a supplier for an arm in NZ. https://thrashgaragenz.com/products/nissan-skyline-v35-z33-350z-front-lower-straight-arm-rh-side?srsltid=AfmBOopMdfCFDc_8yVZZ9kq5nIngPHRTBzUU8v4SAptJaRO52Wjs0bC6 I looked closely at the photo of that one and the Z1 arm, and it's the same bloody arm. Scratches all match in the photo 😂 How hard is it to change that joint? Also they seem to be listing two options https://thrashgaragenz.com/products/nissan-skyline-v35-z33-350z-front-lower-straight-arm-balljoint-rh-side?_pos=1&_sid=229acde44&_ss=r And now I have no idea what size I'd need yay
    • Ill review it again, from memory when I first saw some of Trailer Park Boys I wasn't a huge fan. I ended up at Letter Kenny after watching Shoresy, which is a bit ass backward, ha ha
    • "lol dunno" either But like you, I can't see any reason they would need to be different LHD to RHD
    • I agree with you WRT the hard top. MX5's may be one of the better looking soft tops but I cannot think of ANY car, EVER that looks better with a soft top vs a hard top (or a designed roof). At all, ever. I also feel this way about the C5 Vette, the Z06 looks horrible compared to it's original form, it has an exaggerated version of the differences you're talking about.
    • Hey crew, Failed my WOF cause of a lower control arm, and I've decided to hit both arms, and also the compression rods at the same time(seems they're gonna be the most likely upcoming failure points from some discussions with the lads over on the G35 reddit). I've looking at these form Z1:  https://www.z1motorsports.com/front-suspension/hayaku-automotive/hayaku-g35-front-compression-rod-p-40716.html https://www.z1motorsports.com/front-suspension/hayaku-automotive/hayaku-g35-front-lower-control-arm-p-40674.html I asked Z1 if they'd work as it's the same platform, just RHD vs LHD. I basically got told "Lol dunno". Specifically they aren't aware of any difference but can't guarantee fitment as they haven't done it on a 350GT. So guess I'm asking is if there is any issues with using 2005 G35 coupe suspension parts on a 2005 350GT coupe? Orginally I thought it could be something in the way of the arms that each control arm is designed to be positioned around, but that'd be an engineering nightmare for Nissan needing two different shaped control arms 😅
