Maybe I'm being naive, but the idea of a GTR drag car is to use all FOUR wheels to deliver power ?

How would removing attesa be good ? It's just a 2wd GTS then!!

Just look at VL's.If you have sticky enough boot's and good sup setup I guess you don't need ATTESA,it's more weight to move.Also those 1000hp GTR's in japan only in 9's and the VL's are up with them.My 2cents.

they handle terrible, but spin the wheels ok!!

there really meant to be 4wd and obviously designed like that..

and with regards to the dyno run, they probably pull out the front drive shaft, only 4 bolts underneath the car, to dyno it it. (if its a 33) 32s, just pull the 4wd fuse link.

I would have thought ATESSA would have detected no traction under the rear wheels and engaged the fronts ?

The would not be lack of traction at the rear, but the large speed differential between the rotating rear wheels and stationary front wheels would make the ATTESSA system think there is a lack of traction and redistribute the power accordingly. Does that make any sense?

too hard obviously, not difficult to get those transfer cases smoking the clutch packs now is it. just visit gtr specialist workshops B)

yeah u must be far from an expert, the cam shaft control the opening and closing of valves to allow air into and out of the engine, then have nothing to do with ATTESSA

the shaft your are tihnk of may be the front drive shaft which goes from the transfer case to the front diff, yes as is mentioned above can be unbolted.

    • I also used Knox driveshafts when I the slip yoke T56 to the 3bolted TR6060 type. I believe I was one of his first jobs as it literally changed hands when I was there, started by the old owner and finished by the new. Everyone seemed pretty great about it. So wasn't shy/seemed pretty knowledgeable when dealing with weird custom people like me.
    • Just a reminder orange park was cool back in the day   and drifting the main circuit was even cooler   f**k I miss that car  
    • We used Knox Drive shafts years ago when we were doing gravel rally, good guy but I heard it had changed hands? He's got a lot of stuff and is miles cheaper than GJ and so on. He used to have a lathe setup with a MIG torch on the tool holder so he could get the uni welds just right, quite a clever guy. I just got a driveshaft done for my sequential installation and that was through Balancing Services Australia in Preston, they did the Gibson cars in the old days. New genuine CV's, billet yoke, new centre bearing and chome moly shaft was $2k.

    • Yeah I saw that about the US Q50 recently, apparently it was shown to Inifiniti dealers (probably to help with their depression about the cars they can sell). Seemed like a really obvious step to me, the platforms are very similar in many ways. Even if there aren't many people who actually put the money up it should really help with image/reputation. What hasn't been clear anywhere if that is a V38 model of if they are just going to add the trans as an option in a new model year. What they did with the Z from 370z to "Z" is just weird so I'd be surprised if they released this as a V38. Great news for me to have an option; it is far from confirmed that I can get any decent track sessions through the auto so having a manual I can swap to is great.
