MRDVS
Hey guys as much as i will regret selling my skyline i think its the best things after spending thousands of dollars there is not much i can do, with all these rules coming into place restricting us from powerfull cars im thinking about selling my car. I was thinking of buying a subaru forester TURBO, I was thinking of going with black, dumped on big chromies making this a show car etc you get my drift. Im just so confused on what to get any 1 got any ideas. Peace EDIT: Yes i am on my P'S Edited December 11, 2005 by MRDVS Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/98100-selling-my-car-getting-a-new-one/ Share on other sites
Coupe-This
how much power does a subaru forester make ? i think that itself might be over the limit also. And if they do end up banning turbo cars altogether, well then your still driving illegally. How long do you have till you get off your p's ??? You have been driving the car around legally for the amount of time you have owned it. Well assuming you have an r33. Dont drive stupidly or in dodgy areas late at night (chapel street) etc ... and you should be pretty fine. dezz
even if they do bring in the no turbo law, i doubt they will be able to make it apply to those who already have their P's or those that already own a turbo car. just like it is in NSW, those people are exempt. you have that pink 33 yeah? you're already breaking the law by driving it, so whats the difference Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/98100-selling-my-car-getting-a-new-one/#findComment-1781251 Share on other sites
MRDVS
No its not pink lol my phone makes it look pink but it does have a pearl anyway with that out of the way, its not the power to weight issue i just cant b f*kd having to worry about shit now, i dont give f*k bout the law but oh wells. But i do think it is time to sell my car now anyway even if they do bring in the no turbo law, i doubt they will be able to make it apply to those who already have their P's or those that already own a turbo car. just like it is in NSW, those people are exempt.you have that pink 33 yeah? you're already breaking the law by driving it, so whats the difference <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/98100-selling-my-car-getting-a-new-one/#findComment-1781410 Share on other sites

Once the new laws are passed, the cops will be acting on them and enforcing the old ones. The police have been very lax in enforcing the power to weight laws, but wait and see what happens once a bit of media attention, on the laws, occurs. dezz
i still dont think they'll be able to stop people that owned the car before the laws, just like in NSW. Al
Dezz: Driving a R33 gts-t has been illegal (on P's) for at least 10 years, as these power to weight laws where around well b4 i got my P's, 10years ago. Other Skylines are also illegal, to dive with P's, but as stated b4, in the last 6yrs cops have not really enforced this law. 10yrs ago you would have been "taken to the cleaners" for driving V8's, let alone our hi-powered turbo engines, which in most cases are housed in a lighter body. paulr33
i agree, they will most likely select real name, surname from vicroads.cars where power_to_weight_exceed = true then procced to take action on those cars / owners Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/98100-selling-my-car-getting-a-new-one/#findComment-1781648 Share on other sites
Jenius
yeah a forester would be a good choice if you want good power. its a shame they're having the restrictions now. be a good pimpin' wagon and good as a practical run around. I'm not too sure which cars are restricted but I know there are some NA cars worth having, DC2 integra, Corolla Sportivo or even a fully worked AE86. mook1
think the fine for power/weight is like $100 or something <{POST_SNAPBACK}> if your just gonna get a fine. then i wouldn't even bother getting a new car. i tell you i would rather a power to weight fine. than cop a roadworth or an epa. cops usually dont go the double fine, if your nice. obviously if your an ass you gonna get every fine they can think of.
