  1. I'm sure it can do more than that without too much trouble
  2. I don't see why not, how much boost are you on now? also maybe talk to a tuner before you go raising boost too much
  3. I've got a 33 but the GSS341 let me use right to the bottom of the tank (about 4 1/2 quarters on the guage). I ordered from a mob that included a different 'sock' which is about twice as long as the little squareish one. I can look it up if you want
  4. What boost was this at? Looks like a good result mate congrats
  5. What's this thermal syphon business? Someone told me that when you turn the engine off the coolant keeps running through the turbos for a while but I was like yeah bullshit the waterpump doesn't magically keep spinning
  6. Mate just wondering about the height of those bilstien/whiteline struts you've got. Could you give an exact figure as to how much lower than stock they are? thanks
  7. Seconded for Toshi. He's done pretty well on my 33
  8. I didn't read your other thread but did you program the PFC for your injectors? It would probably run with the 550's but I can't imagine it would idle well or at all. If you're unsure about the afm wiring you can test most of it pretty easily with a DMM
  9. the bov has the same pressure applied to either side of the valve + a spring holding the valve shut. So I don't really know how it would leak unless the unit wasn't sealed properly or the gasket is a bit old.
  10. Okay mate I'll definitely give it a go. I know the clutch has a bit of meat on it i'm just not sure how it will handle the power i'm chasing. Thanks for your input KB seems to be the place for clutches too
  11. How much for the injectors? what are they and also how much for the fuel rail? will you separate them? if need be I can give you stockies to throw on
  12. I've got an excedy heavy duty, I don't know which model but when I did the engine swap and moved the clutch over it was about 75% worn (hard to tell) and the pressure plate is pink. I just tuned up to 240rwkw and it doesn't just bite any more theres a split second of slip. 3rd gear won't stall the motor any more, if I let it out in 3rd on boost it will just slip. Is my clutch on the way out? I'm going for 300rwkw at the end of this year, not sure whether to do it first. Lots of people say over 300 is fine with this clutch but i'm not convinced
  13. ID1000's will be fine, you can make around 500rwkw on e85 with them which is more than a factory rb25 can do anyway. you have 6 injectors now not 4
  14. woah man slow down have you thought about fueling yet? personally I wouldn't bother pulling the head off or changing the manifold gaskets if you know the engine has only done an easy 80k. also why the 6266 and why e85? just curious as to how you came to this decision sounds like a good project, I have 2 brand new engine mounts that will fit the swap if you need some. I accidentally bought the wrong ones for my r33
  15. Hey guys sorry for bringing up an old topic. I'm having trouble with an EBC + RB20 actuator. max boost set to 1 Bar. The trouble is I can't find a good balance between response and overboosting with the EBC GAIN setting. I think it's because of the difference between my boost setting and the hardware setting (wastegate pressure) Has anyone used the Kinugawa actuators on an RB25det highflow? using standard comp and turbine housing. They sell a 1Bar spring that would be perfect. heres a link: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kinugawa-Adjustable-Turbo-Wastegate-Actuator-Nissan-Skyline-RB25DET-R33-/281163573117?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4176a7a77d Thanks
  16. If you know exactly what boost you are going for, I would buy a new actuator if that's an option. There are also adjustable actuators but I'm not sure how good they are. I'm using GFB's geforce 2 EBC. It's okay. It's not the fault of the product though. My problem with an EBC is that you can set the GAIN to keep the wastegate shut (zero bleed) until a certain pressure has been reached to spool the turbo quicker in higher gears for better response. This sounds like a great feature however if you are at 5000RPM in ANY gear and you mash the throttle, the boost rises quickly anyway and the EBC keeps the wastegate shut for too long causing overboosting by up to 3 psi in my case. Lowering the GAIN just kills low end turbo response. This wouldn't be a problem however I've already maxed out the injectors and I don't want to run them over 100% duty, which is exactly what will happen if it overboosts over 6500 RPM. I'm going to install a stronger wastegate so using the EBC to only increase boost by 2-3psi above wastegate pressure. It should work better then. hope that provides some insight
  17. Do you run a FPR with that set up?
  18. They won't do that, depends too much on your set up
  19. obviously you can't change your fuel maps until you get to the tuner. Drive over on regular old 98 with a bunch of e85 in fuel drums and drain your tank there. as for the injectors probably get the tuner to install them seeing as the car probably wont run at all on huge injectors
  20. thanks for the offer mate i appreciate it. Im up in sydney though so its not really an option. good to know it won't go off if sealed properly
  21. When I popped an intercooler pipe the car wouldn't run much higher than idle and there was huge amounts of black smoke coming from the exhaust; the car was undrivable. I figured the turbo was still sucking air through the AFM but it was just leaking into the atmosphere, the ECU was trying to use way to much fuel for the amount of air actually going into the engine. I unplugged the AFM and the car still ran like a dog but made it home easy. without sealed IC piping, car barely runs at all
  22. That pump would be running a pretty high duty cycle at 450hp on e85, personally I'd try something bigger. Have you asked your tuner? They will have a pretty good idea
  23. With E85, the closest United to me that sells it is Dee Why. That's still about 20-25 minutes from my place. I'm wondering how long you can keep fuel sitting around in drums before it absorbs too much water? Or if you have it sealed is it pretty much a non-issue? I also have a 200L drum under the house I could clean out and use with a hand pump but I'm not sure how well I could seal it. Tuner mentioned that as more water enters the fuel, the octane number drops slightly potentially causing det for an entire drum of fuel. He also mentioned something about people having rusted injectors from it in cases where the car isn't driven more than once a fortnight etc. I'm not worried about that personally just curious if anyone has heard of anything. Thanks
  24. too bad you're in melbourne, my paintwork looks like shit at the moment!
  25. S2 RB25det stock Hypergear 21U R33 highflow. Splitfires + 0.8mm platinum plugs Walbro GSS341 Standard 370cc injectors maxed out. FMIC, switched to Tbolt clamps on all silicone joiners. 3" turbo back exhaust through a quiet muffler, very good system stock airbox GTR BoV plumbed back. Pretty common set up; tried and true. Drives nicely and has pretty awesome response, full boost by 3950RPM on dyno Tuned by Toshi Made 241KW at the rears on 15PSI, 618NM of torque. Maxed out standard injectors
