  1. I would also like to know how someone just happens to have their own dyno
  2. Since you haven't mentioned it, I'd be changing the fuel pump. 20 year old fuel pumps don't like to be pushed hard. A walbro GSS341 is about $100 and even if your pump turns out to be fine its a good thing to do for piece of mind. Also, Superben will have something to say about searching the forum and someone will also state how they can't believe how many people buy cars that already have problems just because they're cheap. other than that welcome to SAU, perhaps some of us can borrow your dyno some time edit: did you change the fuel filter yet? Also pressure test the intake. you could have a massive leak which could cause this
  3. Sounds fine to me then mate
  4. yep. If that boost hose has popped off then I'd be clamping it or at least using a cable tie. If your boost gauge doesn't read vacuum off throttle as well as no boost under load then its definitely not a turbo boost problem. Shouldn't have felt much slower though. Just make sure your wastegate line is attached properly, if that pops off you can do some more serious damage
  5. I have to agree with this. First time I went for a tune I didn't check and the following week I found a split joiner and leaking AAC hose. If you haven't ever done it, just do it. A decent leak will overspin your turbo trying to make up for the lost boost. It will also run super rich on boost (not for the guys running MAP). not only that but the wastegate will stay shut for longer and create more backpressure in the exhaust manifold under high boost which can cause det if you're tuned right on the edge. whatever just do it
  6. You don't need the caps if the injectors are fastened in with the adapter collars.
  7. The -10's will be worse than the -5's in terms of lagginess. If you want that much top end power you can go E85 on a smaller set of snails and keep your response. from memory, the laggiest to most responsive 2860's goes from -10, -5, -9, -7's. But the 9's and 7's are pretty close with the 9's being the newer design with better top end.
  8. Thats what shims are for
  9. I had this problem in ethanol. The heatshrink was completely missing on one wire and the solder had deteriorated. Ended up using crimps in the end. I usually don't trust crimps for large currents but if you strip about 15mm off each wire and have them overlapping inside the crimp connector then how bad can they be
  10. 600 CC would probably be a bit small to keep decent AFR's on your set up. I've got 1000cc and use 80% duty at 306kw 20psi on a HG highflow. that was with wheelspin from 5k+ RPM so we don't really know how much power is being made. anyway I think they are probably similarly sized turbos and 600CC injectors might only get you there with an adjustable FPR and a very good fuel pump
  11. I imagine you'll get pretty close to 240. But from memory those GCG highflows have to be boosted pretty hard to do so. If your set up is all good to go then just tune it.
  12. it depends if you want to put up with travelling to buy e85 and if it's easy to obtain in your area basically. What boost level are you running? i'm willing to bet you can run a few more pounds on e85 to help chase power. with the bigger top end it will be like having a bigger turbo without the added lag. it just comes down to how much of a hassle it is for you to run the fuel. If you already have all the other mods, then just a fuel pump and bigger injectors and a tune will get you there. i went e85 a while ago and its awesome
  13. yeah a 21U highflow from HG will get you 320ish on 22 psi E85
  14. wow how does it go with 300k on it? does it just drink oil? I reckon mine would at that mileage..
  15. Hey guys I've got an issue. Last week I left my car out in heavy rain and some water found it's way under the clearcoat on the bonnet and this panel (pictured) I'm wondering if I can remove this panel and just swap it? I know some panels aren't removable. I am considering buying a S2 conversion for the bonnet, headlights, grille and to get rid of my shitty front bumper which I think is aftermarket. Also is there anything that can be done about hail damage on the roof? edit: can someone identify this bumper? It looks kind of like the M spec S1 bumper with the centre cut out, but the fitment is awful and there are no cut marks so I think its aftermarket. Thanks in advance
  16. so what went wrong? were you running aftermarket intake pipes that were causing a flow restriction or something
  17. ahh that sucks to hear, sorry mate. The car should still feel pretty zippy on boost though. But you might break something soon. Also, when you go to the dyno throw your stocker wheels on with 205's of a hard rubber. Trust me fresh 275's are too wide and too soft for the dyno you WILL be losing out on your power reading.
  18. any chance it could be wheelspinning on the dyno? my power curve looked like that with crazy amounts of wheelspin, just went flat once boost came on. maybe not with 208kw though.
  19. imgur.com so much easier. if the boost was coming on a bit later than the other car; perhaps you have a boost leak? are you running an AFM?
  20. If you've got the turbo handy could you show us a photo of the front and rear? might be able to gauge how 'hi flowing' it may be by judging the size of the turbine/comp wheels these pictures are of the current profile 21u highflow. i guess you can compare them to yours
  21. If you're worried maybe change the seal on the lid of your fuel tank. Or talk to scotty, he will tell you about the zero problems he has had in 6 years or so edit: just wanted to add that disco has some pretty valid points. If you mix 30ish% of e85 and the rest 98 you will still get HEAPS of knock resistance without needing the huge amount of flow required for e85. worth looking into I'd reckon, how hard can it be mixing fuel in jerrys at the bowser?
  22. that is a weird result... before you pull the valves out I'd be doing the kerosene trick where you let it leak overnight to see which valves are actually sealing properly. Also what kind of accident was it that caused the timing belt to jump 4 teeth on the crank pulley? sounds a bit strange
  23. 25 psi?? makes me think I should re do mine...
