  1. Good luck at the drags tonight. Hope you've practised those launches. Whats always worked well for me is working out what revs you need to take off without bog or too much wheel spin and then feeding (riding) the clutch to create boost, then launch that bitch and hope you got it all right. It's a bit of a balancing act but works well when your on street tyres. For example in my car I hold the revs at about 3 to 3.5k, start feeding that clutch in and as soon as I start hearing spool I steadily keep releasing the clutch while mashing the throttle to the floor. Usually results in a slingshot take off with a slight bit of wheel spin in 1st. If you get it wrong you will either bog or fry the tyres. You can also use the handbrake to help u remain stationary, if u do that though, just don't forget to release it once your going.
  2. It sucks to go through what you have endured. Especially when you haven't taken any short cuts and forked out the hard earned dosh. At least very soon you will be able to finally enjoy your fine vehicle and the past can become a distant memory. Hopefully you can get some sort of reimbursement on the costs of the f*#k up. Good luck.
  3. Thanks for the kind words George. Previous owner made a nice choice with that colour. Its a lexus paint code, Flint Mica.
  4. your better off finding one without issues. Don't buy someone elses problem. If the seller can sort out the issue before selling it to you then fine, otherwise pass on it mate.
  5. ^Hopefully all these dodgy pricks get what they deserve.
  6. Gap plugs down to 0.8 first and see if that helps. Replace the torn pod. Pop the cover off the afm and check the solder joins, they often go dry or crack, re soldering usually fixes that. Try all that and report back. Hope it turns out to be a simple fix.
  7. Welcome, sounds like you're on the right track. Get cheapie copper plugs. Bcpr6es or bcpr7es in the .8 gap version. If the misfire disappears don't bother with the split fires until you need them.
  8. Only in America. Maybe these yanks are gonna teach us a trick or two.
  9. Fair call but the blokes not an idiot. He knows how to spot a leak, was just trying to give him a bit of confidence. You're right though, probably a job best left to a pro[emoji106]
  10. Diy ftw. You will have to remove the line from the core to flush it. Can't be that hard to do. Give it a go. If u f*ck it up, you can always take it to pirtek etc.
  11. S15 stock turbos will happily run 16-17 psi but can't hold that till redline. They usually drop to around 14-15 psi in the top end. This is when your ecu is tuned otherwise 12 psi max. In skylines most guys with aftermarket turbos run 18-20 psi. Some push them a bit more.
  12. Welcome. Good choice of car. SAU = silly asses united[emoji12] Na, skylines Australia united.
  13. Stops jerks pissing in your fuel tank
  14. Stand on scale ang get your body weight. Then hold exhaust while on scale and work out the difference. Wholla u have weight of exhaust
  15. Pull the plugs out and have a look at the colour of them. Brown is good, black means they're fouling and white means they're getting too hot. Check cold start valves as mentioned. Next thing to look at would be coil packs.
