  1. It is the ZF and a fluid change is on list of things to do. Interestingly according to BMW these are a non-serviceable item. They don't change the fluid at all according to them. On face value I can't believe this, has anyone else every heard of a gearbox that was a sealed unit?
  2. This is 100% correct for BMWs. FTFY.
  3. Also if that was a joke... well played! I lol'd at my desk.
  4. Silver one is knackered. It has just become my daily, i've had it for two years and it has served me well so far. It's certainly not under any kind of warranty. The gearbox had a it of a meltdown about 3 or 4 months ago and was flaring and carrying on. I ignored it (like you do) and then finally at the service mentioned it was "a bit rough". They recommended a new gearbox for 10k. I declined and we looked at the new models, but none of them were my thing. In the end, we came back to the same model, only this one has been well kept, well serviced and has every conceivable option these things came with. If the gearbox does go, it will be a project for my friends and I to change it over and see if we can reprogram the car. Surprisingly it has been very well behaved since the initial problems, but i'm pretty much expecting it to stop moving the back wheels at any stage now. When it does, bring on the spanners...
  5. Haha, one is silver, one is white. Also one is knackered (gearbox issues) and one is in mint condition...
  6. Hello. Car is up on car sales now; the ad has better pictures and the current number plate. https://carsales.mobi/cars/details/Ford-Falcon-2004/SSE-AD-4919899
  7. It's home!!!
  8. I was only chatting to the officer about 3 weeks ago. It's really shitty and I actually feel worst for the cops. They're on first name basis with these shits and still can't get the courts to lock them up. It sucks pretty bad. I think that I read Melbourne had the worst car theft/car jacking of the country.
  9. Yeah, I had a chance, but I was just straight up confused as to the situation... Apparently according to the police officers, Glen Waverley, through to Springvale is a real "hotspot" of stolen cars, in particular 90s and early 00s seem to be their favoured models. I was just in the police station picking faces from a lineup, the officer was telling me they had picked up one kid who was participating in a game of "who can steal and photo themselves with the most Pulsars". The worst part was he said even though they know who they are, because of their ages and backgrounds they are likely to receive suspended or light sentences, assuming they could find them.
  10. Can do, just not today, or any other work day. After some bastard tried to steal it from out the front, it doesn't get to come to work now...
  11. It is a hole if you don't have a wiper... I work in the S.E and would very much appreciate your donations. I'll PM you. You are very kind.
  12. ^ That should read, "un-damaged speaker grills". It's in excellent condition, i just need to work out what to do with that hole in the middle. It shouldn't be too hard to print a piece to slot into it to block it off, I might even attempt to emboss it with a GTR logo. Do some R33 GTRs have high mount stoplights? Or has this parcel shelf come out of another model? It was advertised as a GTR parcel shelf, but i'm now thinking that might have been to capitalise on the GTR tax.
  13. New parcel shelf arrived. This one has speaker cut outs and I damaged grills. No more two speaker setup for me!!! (Well, once I've wired it all in of course).
  14. Wow! That looks so cool. Good call on the SR20 too. You could grab the other one, then you could have matching cars with your Dad! Go on, you know you want to!
  15. Thanks for putting that link up. I'll be lurking in the background (like always!).
  16. Haha! The warranties, that's how they get you! Still I've never seen a car of that vintage look so clean without a full restoration!
  17. @Leroy Peterson, can you give us some more info? Where did you find this? it looks to be in amazing condition. Are you into English cars or did this just peak your interest this time? I'd love to hear the background to this.
  18. Leroy! My god! That's gonna hurt... I hope you are good with electrics! did you get a warranty? (jk).
  19. I've had them before, if you go in with your eyes open they aren't too bad. They get a shitty review from people who think that it covers the fact that their dog ate the seats and it should be covered or that it has come in with salt water in the cylinders (looking at you Land Rover owners). BMW are pretty good with them. Edit: I should add my wife works in a law firm, so letters on their letterhead tend to help.
  20. Me too. Cannot wait to get this thing. Just need to get some nice wheels for it i think. I can't wait to have two of these things. Picked this up for 16k drive away with a $2k 5 Year limited warranty on top. Not too bad (in my opinion). It's going to need that warranty... i can feel it! I looked at the current E class and 5 series wagons and I just didn't love them. I also looked at the C-Class wagon which I did like the look of, but felt it was too small. So after everything, i took what i feel is the easy option and bought the car I love the look of and know how it drives. Funnily enough, the silver one (our first) has no options (at all), this white one, has everything ticked, full moon-roof, TV, CD stacker, a little table that folds out of the boot, heads up display, it's got it all. I am super excited for this car. Gotta get rid of my XR6T now...
  21. I think I have mentioned this before, i'm very partial to Euro wagons. After inspecting the new models all week, deciding that they were ugly (mostly) my wife and I have gone and done something, well interesting...we now have matching wagons.
  22. XR6 Turbo - 2004 Hi all, I am selling my XR6 Turbo in the coming weeks. I am putting it up here first, but please be assured it will be placed onto carsales as soon as I can. The details of the car: 2004 Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo. 122 000 kms. $8000 (possibly lower if you want to perform your own roadworthy). No modifications at all. Has not been re-flashed, has not been boosted and no valve springs either. Absolutely stock standard. I am the second owner of the car, previously owned by a Nurse, who didn't like it as much as her small 4wd so she just left it in her garage. Car comes with the following standard features: Cruise Control Automatic (4 Speed) 17" Alloys CD Stacker (In-Dash) It also comes with the following dealer options: Sunroof (just replaced under warranty because of glue expiration). Hayman Reese Tow Bar (not sure if this was dealer or aftermarket). The car is in excellent condition. It has a few marks on the front bumper (speed bump grinds) and also has some on the side-skirts where i think the previous owner had plants down their driveway that used to scrape the car. The LCD screen for the CD/Air Con is also quite dull. The first owner also smoked in the car, i have had the interior steamed cleaned and have invested considerable dollars (almost $80) into air fresheners to remove the smell. Otherwise, this car is in perfect condition. I purchased the car approximately 18 months ago with 109 000 kms on it. It has since been serviced twice and has recently had the front brakes changed. This just isn't the car for me, there's nothing wrong with it and I have genuine reason for sale, best to come and check it out for yourself if you are interested. Currently I drive it up and down the freeway (I live in the city, work in the outer suburbs), so it has done mostly (almost exclusively) freeway kilometers since I have owned it. The car will come with a roadworthy as a part of the sale and the remainder of the registration, it expires 26th March 2018. I only have old images of the car, i will be taking new ones this week for the carsales advertisement (and this one). The registration is 1IH7EI just so people can run rego checks. (The number plates in the images were kept by the last owner). Please see the attached VicRoads check. XR6 Turbo VehicleRegistrationEnquiry.pdf If you are genuinely interested, please give me a call, I'm around most weekends and possibly after work for inspections. You can contact me on: 0417 495 306, or simply reply here, I can normally respond quite quickly. I may not be able to answer your call during work hours, so please be patient, i'll do my best to call you back. Thanks, Steve.
  23. Wait i'm lost... but seriously, what was the reason for the changeover? Did I miss it somewhere?
