vic R33 gtr vspec s1 wreck
Steve85 replied to Robert1011's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Oh no... we gonna be competing for parts now? -
Budget, purpose of the car, mechanical capability? Do you want to do all the work yourself?

My thoughts are always, go and try both. You'll never know which you prefer from asking in this instance. Both are good and bad, have a drive of each and you'll know which you prefer. Cars are subjective and just because I like a car doesn't mean you will. Have a go, it's more fun and you can then say you've driven both!

Steve's R33 LM Limited Upkeep
Steve85 replied to Steve85's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Thanks man. We just bought a car seat for the little one today. So hopefully it can be fitted and we'll use the car a heap more. Fastest 2 year old in her family that's for sure!- 129 replies

Oh, sorry missed the small in your description. Tercel was a corolla sized car if I recall correctly. Maybe a Celica engine of some sort would suit.

Awesome, I'm not a huge muscle car guy so would never have managed to guess. I hope someone here can give you some guidance.

Drawing Up a Build (R33 GTR)
Steve85 replied to oSkylines's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
https://www.sau.com.au/forums/index.php?/topic/450019-R33-Gtr-Lm-Limited-Buildup This is probably overkill for what you need, but it never hurts to know what's out there. You probably would be more interested in someone who has done their build bit by bit, that way you can see what worked and more importantly what didn't.- 21 replies

Hello. I'm not much help to you but what kind of car do you have? It looks cool!!!

Someone talk me into buying a r33
Steve85 replied to hebaz's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I'd argue that there is more to cars than how fast they go. I don't think anyone will disagree when I say the 34 interior is miles better than the 33. And yeah, fast and the furious has a lot to answer for now I can't afford a Supra and a GTR!!! -
Wanted or was it unexpected?

Park lights wiring hiccup
Steve85 replied to Project13's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
If this were me, I'd probably just cut the loom and rewrite the parkers into the correct circuit. Sounds like they are wired into your alternator circuit somehow. I'd literally chop the wires, run new wire to the interior switch and through your fuse boxes. You should be able to follow the existing loom through the firewall. Your mate should be able to advise best though. [emoji4]- 1 reply

We did it through cam and tune. Tune really helped down low, cams are probably a bit too much (272 -9.2 lift I think)

I've nothing but good things to say about Racepace. Although, I will admit they aren't the cheapest around, but at least you know it will be done right the first time. (In my experience).
-
I kinda did this. When I first got my car it took a while to climb up on boost. One of my requests with it being retuned was to make more torque at lower RPM. We (Racepace) basically moved the power band down approx 1000 rpm. The car is much nicer to drive on the road even if it is 100kW down at the tires. It's a good middle ground for drivability.
-
Haha the mighty N13 Pulsar Q!!! Haha seriously though, that car took one hell of a beating. I'm glad I only had 70kW as an 18 year old!
-
My first car with a broken bottom end disagrees with this...
-
Welcome Erin, hope I get to see your car also!

This isn't entirely accurate. LEDs have less resistance in a circuit. In old school cars this is required as the indicator circuit is expecting a particular impedance to operate at its normal blinking speed. If you reduce the resistance (and thereby impedance of the circuit) the car will simply adjust. The most common way around this is to introduce a physical resistor right before the LEDs. This bumps up the resistance of the circuit and the car/circuit is none the wiser. If you need more info I'm sure someone will have done this already, have a quick search to see what's out there.

I'm seeing a pattern to your posts!

Yep, I have no criticism either. It looks like your doing an awesome job on this thing. If you really must have criticism you mis-spelled "come on you guys" above in the quote. That's all I could find! Seriously though, keep it up, you're doing a bloody awesome job. Can't wait to see more!
