  1. Just make sure it's anodized cause it works as a heat barrier and keeps any external heat out of your fuel system
  2. Yes replace it with the most expensive one you can find
  3. Get a new mechanic this one doesn't know gtrs very well
  4. When I dropped an rb20 into a 180sx I didn't need a custom tail shaft, so double check that before hacking yours up
  5. I can tell you from experience the sr20 is a much easier job as it literally bolts back onto the original mounts, also I don't think the engine bay will be long enough to take the 6 cylinder engine
  6. For 300kw you need Turbos Injectors Ecu Fuel pump Boost controller Good exhaust (front to back with no sneaky restrictors) Cam gears Clutch That's it, anything else is spending money for the sake of spending money
  7. I love how everyone said buying a nice car is so that everyone else can look at you. Hell no buying anything is for you and you alone, having a nice quiet, comfortable and reliable car is wonderful and youll be surprised how nice having all the mod cons really is once you have them
  8. You will need to trim the the front bar to use use a 100mm intercooler in an r32 as well but the bolts, hoses and pins will all line up
  9. You're right I did edit the post but the only thing I changed was the 1 to a 2 because I hit the wrong key, the rest is exactly how I posted it in the first place Most people would have reconized it was supposed to be 25 due to group A no longer existing after 92
  10. The tomei springs will work as long as the valve seats have not been cut, the issue is that these engine are now old enough, that if you don't cut the seat you end up with leaking valves. Of corse there is some good stuff here, Japan asked us not to bring our group A cars over there 25 years ago, so we've always been a head of the game
  11. there was a thread only about a month ago where someone else had exactly the same issue and fixed it by fitting non Japanese branded valve springs, really it's up to you, you can listen to people who have real world experience with their own cars, or you can listen to brand fan boys who's experience is something they once read that someone posted about their neighbors cousins sisters boyfriends friends carAt the end of the day it's your money and your car and what you do with them is your choice, but it's not always the poor man that pays twice, some times the ignorant man does as well
  12. He isn't the only one with the same story, but basically it goes along the lines of fitted Japanese valve springs (tomei in mine, hks in his) neither had enough seat pressure and caused miss fires in his due to float, mine were checked before being fitted, both replaced with super tech and now fine
  13. tomei pistons are actually made by another company (can't remember which one)
  14. In that case leave the factory ones in there, they will cause no issues for you with what you are doing with your car
  15. If you change the turbos (weather -5 or something else) you will need to tune it to ensure reliability which means changing the ecu, the fuel pump will also probably be 20 years old and need replacing in order to keep up with the fuel demand. Also the injectors to actually use the flow the -5s are capable of unless you plan to stay at 270wkw in which case -5s aren't the turbo you should be looking at using If you intend to keep the car completely standard and never modify it then you are best to leave the factory turbos on it, i had the factory turbos on mine till 2011 and since 2003 had been running 1bar of boost without issue
  16. Try asking in the general maintenance section, chances are someone in there has done it before
  17. Also make sure every line that goes to the sump is above the oil level, cause if air needs to go thru the oil to get out of the engine, then it's going to take the oil with it
  18. a car is never and asset, it's a luxury but having something nice to drive around every day is rather nice. Especially when it comes to a long trip If you can afford it and it's not going to effect your life style or house purchase, then I say go for it
  19. That's Terry's plates alright
  20. We bought the misses a newer car and borrowed 20k of it 12 months before purchasing our house. We don't even notice at all and are living very comfortably, but we crunched all the numbers before we did it as well.
  21. Did you take the pressure relief valve out and block it?
  22. My ones are the best
  23. Personally I do it in order of tensioning and to ARPs torque specs
  24. You can't retension the factory skyline head bolts as they are torqued to yield, so just replace them with studs one at a time and hope for the best
