  1. I had always intended to replace the exhaust anyway as I was never happy with how low it was and It didn't sit up in the rear bar how I would have liked So now it's going to get a fully custom made stainless steel one that hugs right up into the body
  2. It has midori dump pipes, 2x70>Into 80mm front pipes (not sure of brand as rage was missing) 3in 100cel cat and a hks cat back (the one with the huge mufflers in it. But of corse for curiosity sake when I installed it i had a look down the exhaust and being a jasma exhaust it came with a free resrtictor in the center muffler
  3. Grabbed the car today and the results were a little low compared to what I expected for this round result was 281kw with 1.5bar of boost and at 6,000rpm would choke to the point it no longer reved We believe the exhaust is the culprit, basically after the drama with the engine build, I grabbed a bunch of second hand parts and put them all in there to make the car drivable. Which means the next upgrade will be building a proper exhaust that I know will never become a restriction On a positive note it has lost very little in the way of response and makes more power down low then previously
  4. Technically it took 3 days but there was only about 6 hours in actual working time. It took about 2-3 hours to degrease and clean the concrete and then 24hrs to let it dry, to put a coat on took about an hour or 2 but then it was 16hrs between coats and 2 coats was enough. After that it recommends 4-7 days to cure before putting anything on it The paint was just white knight branded garage floor paint from bunnings and a roller with a few cheap mats to put it on the floor
  5. Ok not really related to the Gtr it self but it's living space, while the Gtr was away I decided to paint the garage floor to make working on the car nicer and easier to clean up afterwards Before And after, I think it look a lot better and makes the place brighter Also the results are in, will update ASAP
  6. I payed my renewal a few days ago Thanks Brett
  7. Purple, no idea what they're worth tho
  8. Want to talk about colour price premium, purple, yellow and red as far as I can see ask big dollars because there are o little of them
  9. Do you have a set that isn't spoken for currently?
  10. The only skyline that is 1450 is the r32 Gtr, the gtst only weighs 1280 which is only 30kgs more then the s15 and all turbo skylines have a LSD, but of corse you'd know that with your well informed posts that you have put in this thread
  11. totally agree and it's on the list of things I will be doing
  12. Now it's ready to go and will be dropped off to dvs tuning first thing tomorrow morning
  13. So today I had some time and I did the last couple of things that needed to be done before dropping it off to get tuned First was the a set of cam gears And I managed to replace them without needing to take the balancer off which helped saved and hour or 2, but I wish I had of worked it out earlier and I could have saved even more time then I drilled out a spare factory fuel rail to suit an 11mm injector And the last thing was changed the spark plugs and when I inspected the factory coils I could see signs of arcing so I replaced them with a set of split fire coils
  14. the gtx2860 comp wheel has a smaller inducer wheel compared to then -5 and Andrews car had -5s with -7 housings so it isn't a comparison between the smallest twin bolt on vs a single at all. The -5 wheels would slow down the the response time just from the extra weight. I'm sure if we went like for like, so -5s vs gt3582 we might have seen things work out a lot closer to each other, but instead we saw a set of bitsa turn of the century turbos vs a made to work 15 years newer technology turbo
  15. cant be that hard, they build a vq35s with single turbos factory on them and multiple v8 engines also do it
  16. Because as mick keeps saying, no one is putting anymore r&d into the twins because the rb26 isn't a current engine and the Americans haven't had them. so they didn't give a shit about them I don't care which one is better, I'd just like to see a fair comparison which is all mick is asking for
  17. You want a fair comparison, grab a 35 Gtr and back to twin vs single on that cause at least on the r35 there has been a bucket load of technology put into the twins on them Or better yet grab. 997 Porsche turbo and back to back them, cause I will very surprised if a single could out respond the turbos on them
  18. If you stick to precision and just go up a size it will bolt straight back on and mean a lot less in labour charges
  19. With the gearbox I decided to change a couple of thing that needed doing and were easier to do while the box was out First one being the power harness which also has the gearbox connections on it, it had come undone and looked untidy, so it was replaced and also the car had a vibration under hard acceleration and rather then put up with it feeling like a VL commodore I bought a new one and fitted it. Which was even easier then I expected it to be
  20. awesome thank you will definitely be trying this for my self
  21. So if I go into jay car I should be able to get most of the things to create this set up?
  22. I haven't had one leak on cars I've done work on, but if I pulled it apart I changed the o-ring while I was in there just to be on the safe side. We use to clean them every service just cause we could but it definitely wasn't essential to do so
  23. You only need to change the throw away one 3 times before the reusable is the cheaper option
