  1. No worries Paul, thanks for the heads-up! I've asked for a refund now. Driver tickets get a full refund if it's 3+ weeks in advance. That Sunday wasn't great for me in any case. I was going to make it work if others are going as well but won't bother on my own. So yes, please create a new thread when you've settled on a new date. I'm still keen to try it! Are you going to be at the SAU Anniversary Extravaganza tomorrow? I was thinking to ask around over the next events and see if any of the non-forum SAU people would be interested in a wetpan day. David
  2. Thanks @GTSBoy, much appreciated! Just put in an order for the one you mentioned. To me they all look the same. It can't be any worse than trying to point the phone camera at things. Should be here within a week or so. Can report back then on what it's like @joshuaho96.
  3. Did you buy yours on ebay? Would you be able to link to the listing? Or at least the brand name they use for it. Thanks! I had a quick look at finding just a non-shit camera at some point but going through the listings I found it hard to figure out whether I was looking at junk or something that's actually worth buying.
  4. Woot, show & shine booked a while ago. For a good cause. Will inconspicuously slot in with the family vehicles.
  5. Thanks for the heads-up, very much appreciated! Tickets are for sale now. https://rollracing.com.au/event/all-jap-day-2/ Was quite worried about missing the boat for a moment there. Palms sweaty, arms spaghetti and all that. Got one though. Looking forward to it!
  6. Seriously though, that is a sweet ride to own at 19 years old. It's a sweet ride to just drive at 19 years old. Are they all imports? I always thought Evos were sold worldwide. Also no issues with P-plating? At 19 I was driving my mum's 121. Something like this in much more worn out. It either made me feel like a clown or awesome when blasting Rammstein and reving out the little engine. Would probably unironically drive it again nowadays 😆
  7. AFAIK it is possible to list on carsales without revealing the phone number. I was looking at a car recently and the only way to contact the person was via the carsales messaging thing. Which seems much more sensible.
  8. Ooo nice, sounds like a good mix then! David PS: Thanks for updating the thread title @D_I_F
  9. Thanks for mentioning it Paul! I bought a ticket for the 13th. Haven't done this before so I'm half looking forward to it and half being apprehensive about it. Always wanted to see how the Stagea goes in the wet when pushing it a bit and this sounds like a good opportunity. At least I won't be alone with AWD when you bring the R35. What are your friends driving?
  10. Hmmmm, thanks for chiming in! That is both good to know and a bit concerning. I know little about this, but my simpleton's impression was that lowering the car messes with the alignment and the camber arms help to undo some of that misalignment. Is that not true? What effect does bump steer in the rear have? It makes sense on the front tyres to me, but I can't really picture it for the rear. PS: If in doubt @SLIXK, listen to GTSBoy and disregard what I said. PPS: If anyone has some search magic on hand to find GTSBoy's posts specifically I'd be interested in that.
  11. Not sure, but I'd bet on it being discussed before. The forum search isn't great but with search engines it works much better: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=stagea+coilovers+site%3Asau.com.au&t=fpas&ia=web One thing I'd suggest to consider is fitting some adjustable camber arms in the rear whilst it's all apart. Not sure if it's universal, but on mine it was wearing off the insides of the tyres in the back after fitting coilovers. Enough so that it got flagged in a roadworthy check. I ended up getting "ZSS Rear Upper Camber Arms (Hardened Rubber) - S14/S15/R33/R34/C34/C35 × 1" from justjap and they seem fine.
  12. If people in the retirement village are driving GTR race cars it sounds like a pretty good place to be
  13. How long does it take to get the oil to temp with the oil heater? I presume it is fitted by factory on Skylines only? 10-15 minutes of doodling around to get the temps up sounds about right for my Stagea. It's not terrible, but somewhat annoying. I presume more so when self-inflicted 15 minutes of grandma driving feels like an eternity when it's a daily thing.
  14. Man, tell me about it! We were looking forward to it for weeks. Are you going to upload photos? I was a bit worried about the wagon on Sunday. There's a tear on one of the driveshaft boots. It had been puking grease everywhere. Thought it might be better to not boost it through the twisties. I now learned it is not that big a deal and it looks worse than it is. Anyways, will get it sorted next week. So yeah, very much looking forward to Bathurst now!
  15. Meh, not going to make it after all. Hmpf. Aiming for the Bathurst cruise now in two weeks.
  16. Oh, I have to be careful with sarcasm on the internet. Please don't buy from Alibaba unless you know what you are doing! Don't skimp on things that affect your health and safety. And buying a shipping container's worth of anything is most likely not a good idea. As the others have said, buy genuine parts and sleep sound knowing that they are safe.
  17. On the plus side it's cheap and you'll be set for the next 2000 years.
  18. Very much looking forward to this!
  19. So yes, it was the grommet behind the wheel guard liner. Water went down the wiring and straight through. Thanks for the tips everyone! Didn't see it sealed but I presume lots of Sikaflex as you guys mentioned. Luckily it wasn't due to corrosion.
  20. Seems like the first step towards a Knight Rider KITT cockpit. Though to be honest part of me is going "I don't need, I don't know what I would do with it, but I kind of want it". Especially because the ashtray is wasted space. Can you turn off the illumination?
  21. Have you imported one or were you considering? First time I hear of them. Makes me think of a bit more quirky Stagea. Apparently SR20DET though on the same curb weight.
  22. What are you doing anyway? Are you running an automotive technology museum? Like you say even the early 2000 Blitz website doesn't list this one. blitzpowerusa that is mentioned in that facebook post doesn't have it either. I have a feeling the pragmatic solution might be to not run ancient hardware. I thought I was good with internet stuff but I give up
  23. Makes me wonder whether you need to go full Japanese. Jahoo Japan, Japanese search and all that shebang. You have probably come across this one? https://m.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.251913441533137.65385.244204408970707&type=3
