  1. if it is compressing once the car cools then it sounds like your cap isn't doing it's job properly, or there is a blockage in the hose that runs to the resevouir, or gunk at the bottom of the resevouir that is blocking the hole when it tries to suck coolant back in.
  2. in the thread description you say "replace the s15" and that would be a bit hard to do since they stopped making it quite a few years ago. would be good to see them bring back a sporty 4 banger though.
  3. since when? the one i drove a few years back had lots of power.
  4. you wouldn't even need to go a type X. it's not like the motor is any different between any of the SR powered 180's, other than the fact that the later models got a black rocker cover (although despite the black rocker cover they are just a red top engine. no VCT)
  5. as a representative of wasteland i resent that comment... nah i'm just kidding.
  6. i too would have to say neither. for not much more money you could get a nistune that is going to do a much better job than either of them. basically it's a PFC for half the price. it should set you back under $1000 drive in drive out.
  7. i've pulled the gearbox out of my car in the garage when i broke the clutch pivot bolt. wasn't the easiest thing to do but can be done. i had the car jacked up as high as i could. undoing the bolts were easy, but trying to get the box down and back up was hard with such small moving space. and i hit my head many times, LOL. thankfully i only had to get into the gearbox a small amount. had i been changing the clutch it would've been much harder
  8. from what i read about it you don't need anything as you just download what is needed, but i could be wrong
  9. yeah it's pretty much certainly going to be due to the tune on the ecu.
  10. one possible problem is that the heater tap isn't turning off, or it may be low or out of gas.
  11. in the old work van where i used to work it was a brick with a piece of string tied to it, LOL
  12. i know
  13. the brawler is a low end bmx bike. not what i would recommend for serious riding. mongoose make some good bmx bikes, the brawler (or the sniper for that matter) isn't one of them. sure they are good for the money, but as far as quality goes, there are many better bikes around, but they will also cost you a bit more. there are a few things that let the brawler down as far as quality goes. they are: single wall rims loose ball bearing hubs (looseball hubs aren't that good. i'm regularly fixing them) doesn't have a full cromo frame (makes it weaker and heavier than a full cromo frame) plus a few other little things. but most of these are common things with bikes of that price range, and the only way to get the better stuff is to spend more money.
  14. could it be a battery issue where the battery is what is stopping it from increasing the voltage? there is a way to check this although it isn't the best thing to do. start the car with the battery connected, then disconnect the battery and check the voltage of the alternator then connect the battery again. only problem is that there is a small chance that the extra voltage from the alternator can damage the ecu, but i have seen this done before when jump starting a car without jumper leads.
  15. r33's are drit cheap. you can pick up a tidy one for 10k cause there is so many of them.
  16. putting it on fenceposts etc isn't bad. it prolongs the life of the timber, meaning less is needed to be cut down, and less bought timber treating products are required, so less refining, etc. and it isnlt like it is washing into waterways, etc. it is probably less harmfull using it to kill weeds and to put around the base of fence posts than half of the herbicides that are on the market.
  17. well do you want it to go faster? if yes then don't touch the body as that won't make it go any faster. if anything it will make it go slower because you are adding weight.
  18. ok i just did a quick search and it's in the boot. i'm guessing it's one of the ones near the battery (in the coupe)
  19. as above, exhaust and air filter are going to be the 2 things to start with. follow that up with an ecu and tune since you are wanting more power then leave the suspension alone for now. depending on what sort of use you are using it for as well will determine what sort of suspension setup you would want to go anyway. if you were wanting to take it to the drags then coilovers won't help you at all as they are generally too stiff and you will get better times with the stock suspension. if you were wanting to go to the track then coilovers would be suitable.
  20. yeah i sort of didn't read your post. saw it was by you so didn't bother to read it, LOL. but i am a bit scared at the amount of things that we are agreeing on lately. not a good sign
  21. well considering that immaculate genuine articles of the very sought after models are going for hundreds of thousands of dollars at auction, i don't think that replicas are hurting the price of genuine cars, LOL.
  22. wow, why didn't anyone post this back in october? oh wait, i did http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=4856532
  23. it isn't that hard to fit a dimmer though. you can buy a dimmer from somewhere like dick smith and then install it yourself if you have a few hours spare. personally i wouldn't bother though. may i ask the reason you are wanting to find it? if it is because the lights are too dull it may be work replacing the bulbs. i put phillips blue vision park light bulbs in my 33 and it made it as bright as anything and looked great.
  24. i'm not sure if they have a seperate resevior or not. generally most cars will just store all the fluid in the gearbox and you simply pull out the dipstick for the gearbox and tip it in there. it's been a while since i had to top up an auto gearbox so i'm not 100% sure on that.
  25. if it is noisey then it means the viscous clutch is fully engaged and drawing maximum air. as for outside air temp, that plays only a small roll as to how much it comes on full. if you drive it hard on a 10 degree day it will come on, or if you baby it along on a 30 degree day it might not. also don't just rely on the stock gauge in the dash to know when your car is getting too hot. they are a 2 stage gauge. basically they don't show that the temps are rising until the temps are already extremely hot. in start stop traffic it is common for the fan to kick in fully because of the lack of airflow through the radiator compared to when you are constantly moving. however if it is happening on cool days it may be a sign that the thermostat or water pump aren't working 100%. but you would really need to see what the temps are doing with a proper temp gauge as it may still be fine and there may be no problem at all.
