  1. but for a GTR say, can you dial up 7000rpm and step off the clutch? what happens?
  2. so I guess the next question is who have people here used in sydney for R32 SEVS compliance, how much did it cost? and how was the job?
  3. thanks big man. yeah, the rvcs site and the other dotars sites don't seem to work. but the link you gave me is perfect.
  4. i'm telling you people. I use both. RTA and Crosscity tunnel and the CCT one is cheaper and easier.
  5. Ok guys, I need some help. I've had a search through this forum, and I've tried looking at http://rvcs-prodweb.dot.gov.au/ and http://raws.dotars.gov.au/rawswebpublic/RA...age.asp#results but both these sites appear to have trouble with giving me a list of compliance workshops. So, I'm hoping you guys can help me out with reccomending some SEVS workshops in sydney that comply R32 GTRs? Thanks.
  6. if the kms being genuine is really a concern for you, I would have been asking this question before you bought the car, not afterwards.
  7. i have 2. the cheapest one believe it or not is the one sold by cross city tunnel. the RTA one sucks.
  8. nice. I got a few today. blitz spotted me, liz spotted me. and the weevil did too! i guess that's what happens when I drive my car... lol.
  9. I want Super GT. end discussion. someone come with me later this year when I go back to watch another round of the Japan Super GT. awesome cars. awesome technology. good racing. love it. and since this is a talk about season 07. congratulations to skaife for beating the record for most round wins ever. in my eyes he's earned it.
  10. FARK! I'm not at work today, I stayed up, then fell asleep, but never fear, my trusty dvd recorder was set to timer record. well thanks alot sony it f**ked up and didn't record shit. does anyone know if ten or fox will reply the race?
  11. hey! I've been an SA lover from melb 06 too. I even tried to chat to the SA team as we were on the same flight back from melb after the race, and I even scammed you into the paddock area in the hunt for the merch! lol. go aguri, live the japanese dream!
  12. no super aguri stuff in melb. hasn't been for either of the two years they've been in F1. The only place I've seen it is japan. shame really. i'm sure they need the dough.
  13. dude, don't make a habit of leaving your keys in the ignition. even if your garage is locked it's a bad idea.
  14. lol, well enlighten me then, how will you ship them? If you know a cheap way to do it I will send myself some tyres, but I've never found an effective way to do it. 255 is far to big for an 8inch rim. 225 is the better choice for an 8.
  15. yeah it's a pretty cool toy. I played with one a little bit earlier this year in japan. ARC had one set-up on display with a mini GT wing. you could push on it etc and see the readings. good for a bit of a laugh, but I reckon the results will be pretty predictible for you guys anyway. more angle=more downforce. deciding whether or not it's a good thing is up to the driver, the meter can just tell you how much you have.
  16. the problem with container shipping (or consolidated cargo) is you need someone to prepare a BL for you, then you need to pay customs duty and GST and clearance cost in aus. plus with tyres you may need to have them sprayed to kill any eggs that can hide in the rubber and this can cost a bit (i know you definately do for used tyres, new ones may be exempt). plus you need someone in japan to buy them for you and have them sent to the port. basically I think unless you are going to buy say 40 or 50 tyres at once and fill a small container it's not worth it.
  17. if they are dot marked (which they will be) then yes they are fine in aus. they aren't sold in aus so you wont find anyone selling them here. but shipping tyres costs a lot of dough. you will find probably more than the tyres cost themselves. probably the best option is to chose a different tyre that is available locally. but if you reckon you know a cheap and fast way to send tyres from japan to aus then i'm all ears
  18. wait and see cupcake. lol weather can change fast.
  19. the castrol is a cheap oil. group III base. if you want a good oil you have to pay more for it. it's that simple. the castrol you pay for marketing, motorsport involvement etc, and a bit of your money goes to developing oil, but it's still a cheap oil, and in my view poor value. but again its' a simple equation. good oil costs more than worse oil. personally I think if you care about your engine and like to give it the old spanking then a IV or a V is the go. I use motul chrono 300V. costs a lot, but to me it's worth every cent. oil is one of the most important ingredients to a happy car. in my mind it's right up there with tyres as the biggest thing people underspend on. I say you can never spend too much $$ on good tyres, or good oil.
  20. I won't mind too much if it's postponed due to weather. at least that means more time for all of us to beautify our cars
  21. I'm curious how did you get in? I would be keen to check it out in november. and how can you be only one of two people ever to see it? you yourself posted this: "Hi to all. I am heading for Japan, with a mate, and a look around at Red Park, and Toyota Museum, Twin Rings, Fuji and the Tokyo BP Nostalgic car show in early May. That is some of the agenda. I was wondering if anyone knows how to get into the ZAMA WAREHOUSE FOR A TOUR . I would really like to see the nostalgic era from 1965-1980 cars. I believe that there is over 800 cars. From all reports that I have, the plant was closed down some 5+ years ago. With the cars gathering dust. I know of other people getting to see. I hava approached Nissan Aust without any reply. Would appreciate any, that is any assistance as to who/how/when to seethis history. For instance the East African Safari works 240Z Datsun Laurel 1600, Datsun 1600SSS, of course the Prince vehicles. That would be a start to see. I know also that the Nissan works cars from America, I believe are also tucked away. Waiting to hear ohmy.gif" so if you know of 'other people getting to see' then clearly there has been a lot more than two. anyway, it would be nice to share some pics rather than just posting up "i'm the only person to see zama warehouse, so there." seems a bit like you're trying just to rub peoples face in it? or perhaps I've misunderstood completely. if so, sorry.
  22. what model is that one for? i like.
