Well we made some progress on the weekend, completely gutted the rear half of the car, got rid of some computer??? dont know what it was or did but the car still works.... so all is good, rewired the boot, just have to get a battery box today and the boot is finished. Made lots of reinforcing in the boot to match what will soon be the rest of the roll cage, will try get a finished pic of the boot today. Finished the rest of the boot of yesterday by painting it nice glossy body colour. Supercharger should be here this morning sometime so ill get a pic of that as well. Parcel shelf is now aluminium, and all the is left for the rear half is to relocate some more wiring, make aluminium side panels finish removing body deadener and carpet the parcel shelf and where the seats used to sit. ^^^one hardcore rear strutbrace, the rear end of the car now feels so unbelievably stiff, its excellent^^^^ -

Well Phase 3 (The Final) of Blacky's build up has begun. Were going all the way, a full cage is being added, stripped interior to loose some weight, a pair of nice buckets. Although its being stripped, light weight panels will be made so the car still looks very trick and not just some dogily gutted race car. The Wierd Looking Manifold is being sent away to be polished along with the blower housing. All Stainless Polished Intake Piping, a custom made intercooler. Most things i have already aquired and still going to for the build up: Vortech V1 T Trim Blower Bosch 044 Pump Surge Tank Cage Fuel Reg Large FMIC Microtech ECU BOV Bucket Seats Harnesses Fire Extinguisher Various Autometer Guages Other Random Bits. This time, attention to detail is what im after. To completely Finish off the car, fully street legal in race trim, ie cage, new interior, removing all the sound deadening. It will only be a weekender, Manual options are being investigated.. but ill be happy with the auto and stally till it blows up. Where aiming to make some serious power out of it. So it will be going off the road in the next few weeks and we are going to try get is ready for Brisbane Auto Salon... Lots and lots of hours, late nights, beer, blood, sweat and tears.... But Visualising the final product it is going to be more then worth it. Next Week it should make a trip to the strip on slicks just too see what it can do so we have a base to go off.... Ill keep you all updated with plenty of pics of the build process and the headaches along the way. -
Yeah i would have to say a V8 skyline would sound pretty cool....

Steps to build the ultimate SS Killer in a Ford 6
NA_R33 replied to GTS_300_Coupe's topic in General Automotive Discussion
y 9 inch?? they soak up shit loads of power and its not need for your application.. -
The blower for mine arrives next week and its a whole heap lighter then an LS1...
-
mine used to run a modified 2 1/2" collector off the coby extractors, straight through to a 2 1/2" 16" long cannon no cat... sounded unreal!! though any drive longer then 1/2 an hour resulted in headaches..
-
no worries
-

Maybe you should go learn about tractive effort mate... its not torque.. and what the dyno has told him is more then correct for tractive effort.. do some research before you go arguing with people. I have had this debate about torque and tractive effort so many times before its not funny so im not even gonna bother try explaining it, research it for yourself. In first gear my car makes over 2000NM's of tractive effort on the dyno.. its not wrong nor is it incorrect.

No its not normal.. we've done it for a guy that races VW?? i think from memory. As the stem curves down to the base of the valve we make that radius tighter.. the guy was after 100th's of gram.. but with lightened lifters and the like, fewer or smaller valve springs could be used (he said that in the past when he had, had it done they were using double valve springs and could go back to singles) to do the same revs reliably...
-
Yes and no, i havent done one myself, but either way the k frame and sump have to be removed leaving the engine in the car, or the engine has to be removed... to change it, so there is a fair bit of labour involved... Id say 1000 bucks is a fair price mate.
-
It has a 4 link rear end and 3/4 chassis as mentioned... apparently its nearing completion but im not saying where when or by who..
-
Ill be sure to let everyone know how good they are after the auto hands it too jason... nah jk's. But yeah was only out there 2 weeks ago with the old yoky's on the rear. Before even hitting the track, the car has never hooked up as hard out of corners with the 265's.
