Rb25Det Timing Ring Help
89CAL replied to brockssracer's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The plate just slips over and sits there. I think once the balancer is on it will stay in one place -
Saw this on facebook. Looks very fun to drive, I bet it feels insane Just wondering the response from a slightly smaller VNT turbo would be like around 350rwkw. I havent even got the ss2 ceramic bearing turbo I bought off you yet and I already want a VNT So good to see the amount of effort and time you put into these turbos. Looks like its really paying off

My car was in a magazine once....... In an Adrenaline Imports add

Rb25Det Timing Ring Help
89CAL replied to brockssracer's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The ring is part of the balancer. You need a new balancer. For whatever reason you disagree then ask if a dodgy balancer on ebay is any good Get a new genuine one or a ross balancer etc -
Rb25Det Timing Ring Help
89CAL replied to brockssracer's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Harmonic balancer is probably done. That ring with the timing marks is part of thr balancer. Unoess you mean the little silver washer that sits between the balancer and timing gear. But this cant rub on the timing case anyway -
Why would you want to replace the ceramic wheel? Its the weak point HG (as far as I know) will replace the turbine wheel and shaft assembly with a steel item and bore the housing out etc. There is quite a bit he can do with the stock turbo, im just not sure the limits of the 21U and OP6 off the top of my head. Its a good option on a tighter budget. Even an all new HG turbo is just over $1000 depending on what you want. And believe me when I say this, because im coming from a much bigger brand turbo then Kando, the service that Stao (HG) provides is worth ever dollar you pay. Having local and helpful support is a great thing to have

I think the sensor works off resistance yes? My fuel light comes on gradually when it gets low. Im wondering if this is the case, and because LED's draw much less current then normal lights, it may cause it ti stay on. Switch back to a halogen (swap from one of the others if you need to and if that fixes it I dare say you just wont be able to use an LED

I was ready for a great season this year after going to watch the Aus GP. Thinking that it wasn't going to be a Red Bull dominated season and seeing a few 'mid' pack teams up there. But the last few races have been pretty average

Second that. I replaced the whole front end on my car to S2 because I didnt like the S1 front. but that actually looks really good

Body Flex - Rear Strut Needed?
89CAL replied to BstewyR33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I think you either have a suspension issue, or a really serious issue that a strut brace isnt going to fix I dont have a rear strut brace and even when I have one of the rear wheels off the ground I dont hear any flexing noises, back end feels rigid and nice. It's long been debated that the rear strut brace is fairly useless because there is support behind the seat and under the parcel shelf so there is no gap in between the 2 sides of the car like there is at the front. The front strut braces do make a difference. Rear I can't say they dont because I dont have one, but plenty of others will tell you this have you got a worn bush or some other issue in the back? Maybe pull all your carpet out and have a look around in the boot if you think there is really some flex there -
I was doing scenery shots, and the car was just parked in the right spot to include it I have this one as well, but I didn't take enough time with it and focused the rocks not the car Doens't look that out of focus but still noticable: IMG_4784 by 89CAL, on Flickr

Hope this isn't the beginning of the end for Lotus this year. Was afraid James Allison leaving the team would have some negative effects, seems to be heading that way
-
I dont know if its so much an issue with the handling. More so an issue with how stiff the camera view is or how stiff the car looks/feels. Like I said, hard to pinpoint exactly
-
Yeah I wouldn't call GT5 'bad' in that sense. But its not quite where it needs to be
-
Exactly

Thats an old photo. Those parts arent visible anymore Black is 100% worth the effort. You just have to put in the effort once or twice a year doing a full polish/buff and wax. Then its easy to clean and looks clean for a bit longer Next car will probably be white but. But white suits it a bit better then white on a skyline Sorting through some stuff today and found an old copy of performance imports with a Midnight Purple GTR in it. Real familiar one

2nd driver is just supposed to be consistent enough to help, but not shine enough to take the spotlight away from the 1st driver or at least this seems to be Ferrari's idea of what there team should be in recent times
-
I don't know why, but driving in GT3 - GT5 hasn't felt right..... I can't put my finger on it exactly. But Grid felt alot more like you were driving a real car. Like I said I've never been able to put my finger on exactly what it is. Anyway, Will probably get GT6 anyway, provides a few weeks of fun before it becomes to easy or your left with just the enduro races lol I don't expect it to be to much different to GT5, but hoping they add some nice new feature. Hell it'd be better if you werent spending 3 hours navigating the menus because of the damn slow load times

I have a shorter and a longer lense, obviously one zooms further. Then I have a prime lense which doesnt zoom at all, generally prime lenses will take a better photo but you lose the flexibility of having zoom. My prime lense also has a better apature range. Without going to far into it, the prime lense I have is better for creating some depth in photos, and I find it gives a bit better colour. But it only focuses a minimum distance of 1 and a bit metres from memory in front of the camera. Depth like this, not the best example but you get the idea: IMG_3863 by 89CAL, on Flickr I want to get a slightly longer lense then what I currently have, this photo from Formula 1 this year you can still slightly see the fence, If I'd had a touch more zoom I probably could have focused it out completely. IMG_4571 by 89CAL, on Flickr There's alot to learn, and I don't think you ever stop learning. But I'm self taught, just looking at other peoples photos and then working out how they did it. It's pretty good fun to learn, and nice going out and just playing with a camera Anyway. I'll leave it at that

eh, something different while the car was clean and there was no light

I dont think im good enough to charge money..... lol Im thinking about upgrading. But I want to keep 2 of my 3 lenses at least. Havent decided what in going to do yet
-
And Maldonado, 2nd drivers at their best Have to say I was really looking forward to Grosjean gaining some confidence and showing some speed, but it doesnt look like its going to happen this year. Grid Penlaties for Kimi and Dan. Only lose 1 place each because of the order the Penalties were inforced. Bit of good luck in a bad situation for those two

First go at a proper Panorama shot. It's not perfect but pretty happy with it. Worked out later on that the camera was level facing the direction I started shooting but as I turned it started to slant, but oh well lol. Gotta start somewhere (not sure how its going to come out in here Untitled_Panorama1 by 89CAL, on Flickr Another shot, Going to try it again in the dark/lower light another day, think it might look nicer IMG_4780 by 89CAL, on Flickr

Yeahhhh but black cars look more amazing when they are clean Think I might try the harbour shots again at night time, or in some lower light. Think they would look better like that. Might have to go do some light painting in a different area one day as well
