What are the GMB ones like? I hate the Davies craig one, I may as well just have the fan bolted to the water pump. It's always pretty much locked flat out I had my OEM one on for ages with no issues and it was fine. When I put the new engine in it seemed to get warmer so I thought i better change it, but I think my issue actually was a little bit of crap caught under the radiator cap seal which was letting a little pressure out. Might just chuck the old OEM one back in lol
-
Yeah better way to do it, holding boost on top and bottom then bleeding the top pressure off. Id say the boost control is the issue with the boost tapering off up top but still doesnt explain the hesitation when downshifting
-
Just found this. Looks like it is TPS that needs to be unplugged
-
Do you have a boost controller? If not, what spring do you have in the wastegate? Only other thing could be the smaller turbine housing (maybe it needs a .8?), but I dont know alot about the precision turbos so I'm not even sure what size the turbo is lol. Anyway if no boost controller then that might improve it, if it alread has a boost controller then it might need some adjusting due to the change in exhaust flow

It shows how much better a driver Grosjean is then Maldonado, seen as they were put in the same basket a few years ago I think Maldonado annoys me so much because he constantly screws up then blames everyone/everything but himself, when alot of the problems seem like rookie errors The issue now is that its a good thing he has bought money to Lotus now. But I'm worried for what will happen to the team when he decides they must be against him like Williams were because he isn't winning races, and by then Lotus may have lost alot of potential sponsors because of Maldonado. I don't want Lotus to fail
-
Seen as the problem wasnt there before and youve only improved the flow of exhaust gas leaving the turbo, then I'm not sure what else it would be?
-
Maldonado Says Crash wasn't his fault I can't believe sponsors still want to put their name to him. And I think he could have saved it if he hadn't locked up just before he hit the wall. Car looked like it was about to swing back Anyway, great to see Dan up there again. Not so great to see that Mercedes are 1 second ahead of everyone. It's hard to believe that they are so far ahead, surely it can't all be engine?

I'm pretty sure to adjust the Idle screw you have to have the AAC valve unplugged. I think only one of the 2 plugs but cant remember which one. Because you have already adjusted it, you might find it is too far in our out so might take a bit of playing around to get the car to idle with the AAC unplugged. You say you keep having Vac leaks? where are the Vac leaks? Because they will effect how the car idles.

Thats odd. Did they play with the tune much after you fixed the exhaust? I would expect it would need a bit of playing around with the tune, not as much as if it were a MAP based ECU The precisions are ball bearing arent they? Sounds like it cant be a turbo issue, but it nearly sounds like when you drop a gear the turbo takes forever to get up to the speed it should be at. This makes me think its ECU related, as if its going to cells that the car never really reached before and the tuners just made safe just in case it ever did unexpectedly Even a boost leak it should sound like it wants to take off. Thats certainly a strange one.... but the fact that you have gained power on effectively less boost (up top) and the better driveability at least proves that the exhaust was a problem

Hicas Creating Havok....
89CAL replied to Spartan-117's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Certainly sounds like a wiring issue. Being that HICAS components exist at the front and rear of the car, its going to be a bit of a pain to diagnose which part is causing it. Seen as its messing with your stereo and headlights I'd start inside the car, may have to pull the dash out and just have a look at all the wiring. Not very helpful but its a bit of a hard one to diagnose without being there -
Does the ecu register its in neutral? Also the tps has 2 functions, one is an analog sensor measuring actual throttle position and the other digital (on/off) that tells everything if the throttle is open or closed. This will effect wether the car is in idle map or normal map and may be the problem, so worth checking out. Is the voltage at 0.40v or there aabouts with foot off the pedal? I think the spec is actually 0.44

The only way I could have made it anymore obvious would have been to park in front of the canelands sign haha

So are these getting posted monday or we are paying for postage monday? :S -
I hope its not just the hose ends holding the oil cooler in position?

What If i told you it wasnt.......................................? But it was so I wont say that lol

Lol nah theres a police beat at the bottom of the carpark which is the stupidest part about it all. They know whats happened and think the worst I would have got would be a parking fine. Car was cold and didnt smell, and I was setup with a tripod and camera crap all over me, I'd like to think they'd have believed me if I'd told them I was just up there to take photos
-
It wasn't me Seriously though, I just showed up and took some photos. Those skid marks are most likely from P-platers who meet there a fair bit and do burnouts (on the top of a multistorey carpark with only one entrance and exit, smart right) Not a bad spot for a photo anyway
-
A local windscreen place said they could replace mine for about $150 from memory. Its usually fairly generic the windscreen seal

What ended up happening here? easiest way for awkward items is to just bubble wrap them, find a box and cut it so you can pretty much just wrap it around the bubble wrapped part -
Was this looking in Sensor/SW Check on the hand controller or measuring the voltage at the TPS? Were there any other sensors faulting on the Power FC? Have you measured voltage at the TPS with the standard ECU, and if so what did you get?

I need colourful cars to take photos of, but anyway, super hard trivia. Where was this taken? Edit-3155 by 89CAL, on Flickr First person to guess right gets to look at my photo again........ And one that I found a while ago that I took with the DSLR, Its not great, but reminds me of when my engine was all pretty IMG_0910 by 89CAL, on Flickr Maybe this will breathe some life back into this thread....

There crazy shiny in that photo for some reason lol. I havent even properly detailed the car that was just after a wash. Have to wax it this afternoon The wheels suit the car so well but, I'm so happy I went with the Lenso's
