  1. Yeah seriously don't waste your money. The RB25 is only worthwhile modifying as a turbo engine. Build one up while your on your P's. It's been said a million times, but really is the best thing to do.
  2. There is another place in Sydney that does them I think, but the name escapes me sorry. Someone on here should know. Have you looked in Paulr33's FAQ? The name of the place may have been in there or something to point you in the right direction perhaps
  3. Yeah I've only ever rebuilt turbos for large diesel engines which only rev to about 2100rpm, and they were pretty heavy duty bush bearing turbos. Fair bit of screwing around getting everything right on the shaft then balancing the thing. This is why I gave my original comment. If he can't source bearings, I dont know if I could trust the final build of the turbo Talk to Stao ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ He definently knows his stuff, plenty of happy customers on here, myself included
  4. Send the guys at FC-Hako a message. I think they are both electrical engineers and pretty cluey with the stuff. From what I can remember they do fix Power FC's if they are repairable
  5. Why? The 2 sensors are in the same line, and Pascals law (from memory) states that pressure within an enclosed space will remain equal and undiminished at all points (not quoting directly) There is no reason for there to be a difference in oil pressure inside the hose and fittings where the sensors are The factory gauge is innacurate because its very vague and quite slow to respond. My aftermarket gauge respons immediatly and has 2psi incriments on it. Much easier and more accurate I don't see the point in testing them as I use the stock gauge to see that pressure is 'roughly' where it should be, and the aftermarket gauge to get an accurate measure of oil pressure
  6. No reason they wouldn't be equal. Just the stock pressure gauge isnt very accurate so ignore it pretty much
  7. This is why I dont use aftermarket lifters anymore: This was in my old VL, rebuilt engine, everything was new. This happened after about 3 weeks of driving Not saying all aftermarket lifters are bad, but its just why I'm careful with lifters. I was real lucky the bits didnt pic up on one of the cam lobes because where they were sitting in the head, it was really suprising that they didnt
  8. I used a fitting into the block to a braided hose and then used a t piece to attatch both sensors, easy and does the job:
  9. If he cant source bearings, id think twice about getting him to balance it. Ive done turbo balancing before and its a very specialised machine
  10. Are you sure you checked the timing right? Did it with a plug lead between cyl 1 spark plug and coilpack and then put a timing light on Sounds like timing to me, especially if it gets better as you advance it Is the CAS dead?
  11. Yeah I'm pretty sure the innovates should display an error or a really off AFR reading. Tuning my car ages ago with an Innovate (forget what brand) and all of a sudden it went to 22:1 or something silly like that. Messed around, re-calibrated the sensor and it came good
  12. Flow meter? EBC's work like this: MAP sensor talks to the controller and tells it what the current boost pressure is. The controller sends voltage in a duty cycle (on and off, in Hz, 20Hz is 20 times a second as an example) to control boost. The duty cycle depends on what the current manifold pressure is The first picture is the solenoid that operates on the duty cycle, the second picture looks odd, doesnt look like a map sensor at all because it has 2 boost lines to it.
  13. Yeah I soaked mine in petrol and pumped them, cleaned them up then did the same in oil, left them for about a week before the head went back together. Have had no issues If your oil pressure is ok then sounds like its a fault with one or more lifters (if it is the lifters) My injectors are quite loud on initial startup and can be confused with lifter tick
  14. That really depends what is actually involved If its just a High flow turbo bolted in, a Power FC and a tune then its probably on the expensive side, but if they are going to fit injectors or anything else like that then ints probably O.K It's hard to really say if its a good price because we dont know what turbo they are fitting and where they are getting the Power FC from and stuff like that
  15. I forget the proper name at the moment but they are part of the synchro's. Its a known issue with some boxes
  16. Did you check the relief pressure on the N1 pump? Might need to be raised. I think mine is borderline but just enough pressure up top
  17. Part number is: 14053-21U00 I think. The drawing on fast isnt the best but it looks similar. Hard pipe withe a bracket and bolt, straight through with a smaller port out to the side $20 on Amayama ex Japan. Local Nissan dealer might have one in stock you can compare to
  18. Yep twins on a GTR is a different story lol I'd go 1000cc, just to have that peace of mind of a bit of headroom
  19. Yeah was going to say, the ones you have now should be fine Unless its a GTR and you are running twin GT-SS turbos? But I ran a GT2835 HKS turbo with 555cc injectors, plenty of room left in them
  20. Lol yeah, mines a daily and its a bit annoying
  21. Pin 18 is the signal for the fuel pump relay. It gets ignition power then earths through the ECU (Pin 18)
  22. I think I'll just chuck my old one back on lol. Not even sure a new OEM one would be even better. Maybe they are supposed to sound like that lol? Surely not, my car is alot louder then stock and if I can hear it over all the noises my car makes, surely they wouldnt chuck it on a car in the factory like that haha
  23. If Mercedes walk away with it in Monaco I think thats the season over. If Red Bull stand a chance anywhere, I'd say its in Monaco. Whats the gap going to be like at places like Monza and Spa this year?
  24. I dont think the Lotus has the speed to defend down the straights problems or not at the moment sadly
