  1. The car hasn't moved in a few months. It's been washed and detailed then put in it's naughty corner. The box I've decided on a PPG 1-4 helical dog with an OS 5th gear instead of the standard one. I'm a little concerned that if I ever head down to Philip Island I might strip 5th being so over driven. I'll also be using the larger input shaft which does mean clutch modification. As for the oil, that was Terry at Award diff and gearbox recommendation. He uses it in all his diffs that are likely to see track work. Seem's fine to me. It definitely shut the clunky Nismo GT PRO up, that's for sure.
  2. Type B's. Too much duration for the lift given. Maybe type R's would change things? Sean, did Godzilla play with cam timing at all? Did Yavuz play with it? Yavuz usually turns them to maximise midrange, unless you ask for a top end screamer.
  3. Bigger ain't always better eh.It'll be very interesting what the overlay is, let alone what it is on the street. Your setup after I drive it from UE reminded very much of my RS setup, just pushed back a few hundred RPM. Having said that, it was still on pump, so hard to compare apples to apples.
  4. Pull the screws out. It's only foam and plates. All Good. Just out everything aside, zip lock bags maybe and reinstall when the work is done.
  5. Lol. I'm not the one telling people to "f**k off" on a public forum, swearing and carrying on like a pork chop. But whatever.
  6. What would you do IF you had your time over again, if you know what you did now?
  7. You're back again. Oh goodie!Mick knows nothing about setups, cams, turbos and what ever else? Well to date he has run a time knocking on 10's with standard turbos, with another car that has a stroker and larger turbos. Both setups have been based around response. You seem to waffle on over and over about rubbish without producing anything substantial to go off. Let's see your own car. Post up specs, sheets, times and results. So far, all I've seen is the magical 2.6 sound waves push the car forward. A car can only rev as fast as it's accelerating, unless the clutch is slipping unless you have some Einstein formula which works against the normal way of science and physics.
  8. That's handy to know. After what feels like a million emails and a few very lengthy calls to Tom (PPG's sales bloke and the poster above), I have decided to take his advice and whack the same box as he has, which is the helical dog 1-4 with a larger spline. For the 5th gear, i'll be going on a hunt to find an OS 5th only, which is annoying because I had one when I purchased my OS set years ago but sold it off because I never thought I'd need it. Grr!
  9. Why so little boost with a turbo that wants more/needs more? TURN IT UP!!!
  10. Have been in the car. You would not expect this off a standard car. I would rather this tha some of the bigger power cars that I've driven due to the area under the curve, let alone boost recovery.
  11. What single setup are you looking at?
